  1. I am not sure where you get the 2.5% transmission chance from.  Getting gonorrhea in one part of your body doesn't mean it goes to other parts.

And most people don't test for or know if they have gonorrhea in the throat because it's asymptomatic.  However, a working lady sees a lot of cocks, so it could happen easily.

I've gotten gonorrhea, it hurts like a bitch.  Getting the uncurable kind would likely suck even more.

Moreover, getting any STI increases your chances of getting others -- including HIV.

It's best to be as safe as possible.

  2. I think oral gonorrhea is hard to transmit orally because the bacteria usually doesn't last long in the throat. Essentially, if you gargle vigourously with mouthwash, it can kill the bacteria in your throat. However, you are relying on your partner to actually do that, so still a roll of the dice.

  3. Lets hope one day soon there is cure.

Although I hope for the same, I'm not very optimistic as its a lot more profitable to provide treatment then a cure. So the investment goes into research for treatment not cure. The best the world can hope for is that HIV becomes a treatable nuisance like herpes.

It's a shame as I think a cure is doable. If Jonas Salk could come up with a vaccine for polio (another virus) in the 1950's, I should think it's much easier to find a vaccine now with all our fancy technology and medical dudads.
