  1. I stayed for a few nights in Lohas suites in January 2016. I booked it about 4 days in advance directly on their website as it was a bit cheaper then agoda. Room was 2,400 Baht per night including all taxes and when I arrived I was upgraded to a one bed suite. In the past my hotels have always been paid for by my company but now I operate independently so I am more concerned about price. I'm sure not staying in the JW Marriott and paying non-corporate rates out of my own pocket.. that's for sure :-)

Overall impression was OK. Reception was friendly and efficient. It clearly caters to a Japanese clientele and most guests I saw were from Japan as far as I could tell. I did not avail of the breakfast so can't comment. As Siam Man has detailed above, it has a main entrance on Soi 2 and it also has a walkway to Soi 4 (it comes out opposite Omni Towers) which was handy when bringing back a guest from Nana or Chaos 9. It's located a few hundred meters down Soi2/Soi4, but it's very walkable even for a LB in heels. Chaos 9 is about 5 minutes walk at LB speed.

There are two blocks and as I was staying in the block nearest Soi 4 I was able to walk in via Soi 4 entrance and into the block I was staying in without coming near reception. In fact I think you could avoid reception even if you stayed in the other block by coming in the same entrance. I usually never bother with getting them to leave IDs if I know the LB I am bringing back. There is a security guard at the Soi 4 entrance but they just wave you through with you guest.

Anyway, some pictures of room. As I said I was upgraded to a one bed suite but it was on 3rd floor so had a crappy view and was quite dark as well. Picture of room.

Decent kitchen area, (there was a washer drier in the bathroom also)

    attachicon.gif20160125_115157.jpg

Very little natural light in bedroom but good size and nice bed.

    attachicon.gif20160125_115219.jpg

Nice bathroom even though shower was in bath which I hate. Give me a nice walk in shower over a bath any day.

    attachicon.gif20160125_115244.jpg

OK pool area on roof. Not a great day (it was actually bloody cold for Bangkok !) so people were wrapped up sitting out by the pool.

So would I stay there again. Yes, if I got the 2400 price I think I would. I noticed that on checkin you can request an upgrade to a room with a balcony (I think they look out on Soi 2) for a small enough extra charge but I was happy to have a 1 bed suite so I didn't ask to look at the other options. Next time I think I would as I like having a balcony and it's useful if you have a LB who wants to smoke staying with you.

Did you take advantage of the suite to organize a ladyboy orgy in it ?

  2. I am not really involved since I can get tests for free in my country. If this is not a real hurry, I'd like to stress I was impressed by the organization at Burumgrad hospital where I had to go for an insect bite.

I have checked if they offer HIV tests and seen they include HIV and STD add-ons in their tests : https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/health-check-up-center-bangkok-thailand-jci-best/check-up-packages

As this private hospital is just one block away from Nana Plaza, it's worth mentioninig it. You just need to walk down soi 3 and you will see a trafic officer and a traffic jam at a 7/11 with cars turning right. Follow this soi on 200 m and you will be there. I guess you can arrange an appointment just going there.

  3. I don't know if ther rivalry between American and European companies involves a rivalry between the FAA and the EASA. The fact is that the DCA (Thailand didn't meet the ICAO standards, so they were downgraded.

There might have been a process in the ICAO saying that the EASA would help and the FAA would audit, but if the DCA had met the required standards, it wouldn't have been downgraded for sure.

  4. look up airlineratings.com also on thai visa story hppt://whatsonsukhum...nes-for-safty/

It's all very well to give a website adress, but who is behind the website ? After clicking this adress, I found a homepage with articles dealing with Qantas, TWA (indeed), and Air New Zealand, looking like advertisements, as well as an advertisement for Etihad.

IMHO, the Thai aviation authorithy should have a precise denomination, should be a branch of the THai Ministry of Transports and, except the Thai government, can be officially criticized by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) itself or the APAC (Asian and Pacific office of the ICAO). In order to avoid mixing true information and gossips, I made a quick search in Google.

The Thai Authorithy for aviation is the DCA : Department of Civil Aviation.

In Wikipedia, they say that ICAO "rejected a safety plan put forward by the DCA, which was submitted to ward off an imminent aviation safety downgrade." Although anybody can write any BS in Wikipedia, it seems that ICAO auditors found serious gaps in safety standards and budgets in Thailand.

  5. It's easy for the train as you found it. I am older than you and have used a suitcase on wheels. Trolleys are not only for female attendants and weak girls, it's very usefull. If you can't get one, you can go to Ploenchit by train, then pick up a tuk tuk to your hotel.

  6. I enjoyed the place. It's a typical corner with small Thai shops. I know that many farangs don't like these corners or daren't order there.

I didn't taste the grilled insects. I swore to go back there on the next evening, but I visited Khao San road on the next day and saw that insects were proposed to tourists. Khao San road meant for me all the BS proposed to farangs who don't want to mix with Thai people. I also had a big trouble with a spider bite, so I had other worriesthan exploring this corner.

  7. I used to see a few ladyboys as a lot use PB Hotel just across and bit further down from Citrus. Did not see Cartoon but Bee was a freaqent visitor as well as many Cascade and FairyBar girls.

A few would seeme outside Citrus having a ciggy and walk over to say hi

Good to know for some one who runs after freelancers.

  8. I take your point, but when Enjoy told me she was on her way with a motorbike taxi, I could walk very fast too.

You are right to stress that more and more arabs clogg the pavements, especially early in the evening. This neighbourhood doesn't make me feel comfortable.

Did you sometimes meet Cartoon in your hotel's alley ?

  9. Just my 1 baht (2 cents) information to this thread : I am used to Unico Express, 74 soi 3 Sukhumvit (Bangkok). It's a fairly cheap hotel with small and large rooms, all with A/C. They now have an acces to a swimming pool outside. The hotl has a new owner (an investment company) and is being renovated. I must admit, the larger was my room, the cheaper I paid. (Cheapest THB 900.00, highest : THB 1,600.00)

The personal is used to guests, particularly ladyboys. An ID is required for guests, the name is written in a guest book and guests must sign the book when the ID is given back. The person in charge of this operation at the reception in the evening is often a ladyboy.

The hotel is fairly close to Nana Plaza. I usually walk there. The first time I was there, I made a ladyboy walk from Nana plaza to the hotel (although it's a long walk for somebody with high heeels).

  10. Hi guys, firstly great site, thanks for all the hard work keeping it up and running. I have a question regarding the search function, which currently requires a minimum of four characters/letters in order to perform a valid search. Is there any thought/desire to lower this to three characters? Basically, there are a lot of LB's whose names are only three characters, there's all this great material on the site, but it becomes impossible to access it. Many times I'll recall some report I've read about a particular LB, but because of the three letter name, my only way of finding that comment is by trawling through the site.

Allowing a three letter search would cut out a lot of the repetitive questions and would allow users more complete access the great repository of information that this website is. However, it would likely also lead to a reduction in chatter as users will less frequently be asking for information about a ladyboy, that they could likely could have found using a three-letter search function.

Anyway, it's really the only thing on this site that I find a little frustrating, interested to know Admin and other users thoughts?

In the upper corner right, you have a button saying "follow this topic". You can use it to be warned when a new post is added.

I reckon I loose sight of topics (particularly in the sister forum where they chat too much or off topic ). I used a trick in badoo : I opened a word document in my PC and use it to store the URLs of the pages I want to visit. I can use my own classification then.

  11. Action is really restricted in Ao Nang. There is a small bar area and a couple of bars with ladyboys mixed with GGs.

Hôtels are cheaper than in other touristic areas. You can get a good room with AC in Krabit for as low as THB 600.00 and housing (in Krabi ) can cost as low as THB 250.00. (BTW, I'm a little bit off topic since Krabi is about 10 km away from Ao Nang).

If you your budget is as high as US$ 100.00 a night, you should have no problem to find a 2 bedrooms rental.

Gogo bars can be found at Centerpoint and ladyboys were reported in soi RCA (where Amy's bar is located). You will find more information about the place in this page : http://www.krabi-hotels.com/ao-nang/soi-RCA.htm# . You might find hôtels and villas in your usual reservation website. Just be carefull if you click on the last link and look for "10 best pool villas in Krabi". A few of them are really far from Krabi. I also found this link : http://www.villas.com/thailand/krabi/ban-ao-nang.html?aid=387750;label=city--3232620-txmL73CI88ejb13l2JGF8wS54537761047%3Apl%3Ata%3Ap1%3Ap2%3Aac%3Aap1t2%3Aneg%3Afi%3Atikwd-66837700409%3Alp1006410%3Ali%3Adec%3Adm;sid=61733a983cb4f7baabd187b61fc54d4d;dcid=4;checkin_monthday=8;checkin_year_month=2016-2;checkout_monthday=15;checkout_year_month=2016-2;class_interval=1;csflt=%7B%7D;dtdisc=0;group_adults=2;group_children=0;hlrd=0;hyb_red=0;inac=0;lang=en-us;nha_red=0;no_rooms=1;offset=0;or_radius=0;pr=50%2C100;pr_cur_code=EUR;redirected_from_city=0;redirected_from_landmark=0;redirected_from_region=0;review_score_group=empty;sb_price_type=total;score_min=0;src=searchresults;ss_all=0;ssb=empty;sshis=0&;lang=en-us#map_closed .

One more advise : the ladyboy scene is really restricted in Ao Nang. It might be advisable to find a ladyboy in Patong and invite her for a long time in Krabi.

  12. You can try Unico hotel in soi 3. Rooms are tiny but prices are reasonable. To get a good price, they recommend you to book before the cheapest rooms are booked.

The hotel is located not too far from Nana. I could make a ladyboy walk with high heels shoes from Nana to the hotel.

I had found the adress in a website dealing with guest friendly hotels. A ladyboy worked at the reception in the evening. The freelancer I had invited just had to leave her ID at the desk before going in.

For my safety, I had a safe in the room and enough place to put my bagage.

Last but not least, they had an excellent breakfast with a buffet. I had paid Thb 1,600 in November 2013.

How long will you stay in BKK ? Will you stay in BKK only or travel around Thailand ?
