    Also emailing them or talking to them on the phone isnt always a great help. Today i called aspen and asked if they had a smoking room available, then he says one will be available starting Thuraday so when i asked him if i book now will he confirm to me that i will have a smoking room he says : subject to availability lol. So we are going back and forth regarding this issue and he starts telling me how he has worked in every hotel in thailand and that none of them will guarantee or confirm this as its always subject to availability lmao. Needless to say i didnt book the room :)

    maybe you should have said " yes i can book but subject to my availability too " :):P

    When you add in other benefits such as 12 free roundtrip limo pick-ups and 20% discount at Duty Free shop the cost becomes even more reasonable. In my case I use the limo service 10-12 times a year so besides the comfort it also represents a substantial saving...

    Chap I hate to say I'm 49 next year and was thinking about getting a retirement visa when I hit 50

    Would like to ask a few of the older members a few question

    I was involved in a schuffle and ended up in court , Long story but while I was in hospital getting stitched up the other person got to the police first and that's when all hell broke looose , luck should have it I got a warning style discharge. So my question is can I live in Thailand with a conviction

    Second part as age brings health isssue , does that play a part on the application , no worries now but you never no

    Why not just buy a subscription, contact the girls you want, get their Line ID or wechat or whatever, then cancel your subscription before the next billing cycle. That's what I have done in the past. If you are willing to spend US $25, you can save yourself all the grief.

     

    I think he may be just having trouble joining , but yeah i pretty much do that Oliver .

    Thanks Oliver . I am moving up from the 5 , so i imagine a substantial improvement ..

    There are some reports of a "hissing" sound emitting from the 7plus when its under load ( not sure about 7) . Not sure if it effects all or just a few faulty ones at this stage . Will monitor the various forums though prior to purchasing .

    The stats of the iphone7 plus are pretty impressive in my opinion & im keen on getting thats for sure .

    this has been discussed inumerable times on the sister forum, and probably here too.

     

    regardless of your intentions, many hotels follow the laws set down for hotels that require every guest to be registered. the number one reason is safety in case of a fire or some other calamity. this is the primary reason why most hotels ask for the "joiners" ID/TH Card.

     

    another reason is if it is a hotel that charges a joiners fee, they want to get it.

     

    but most importanlty, any decent hotel will take the ID so that the girl most go and retrieve it. then they will call the room to see if you know she is leaving, and if you are OK with that. this gives you a chance to check your belongings, etc and if there is anything wrong like a missing cell phone, laptop, wallet, passport, empty mini-bar, etc, they will hold her at reception for you.

     

    they also want to make sure you are still alive and well. that may sound over the top, but too many crazy episodes over the decades with girls and guys fighting or worse.

     

    granted, all of this negates what you are trying to accomplish.

     

    needless to say every hotel/guesthouse is different, and they all apply the rules as they choose (or whoever is on duty chooses), and the interactoin with the staff and other guests that may be around can be aggravating if they choose to offer their opinion of your choice of partner.

     

    when i worked the hotels in Pattaya back in the day as a department head, there was a security guard that was found to be harrassing the guests with joiners. he was not only being an impolite ass-hat, he was telling them they had to pay a joiners fee, and he would then pocket it. not only was he fired, they changed the security company soon after that.

     

    if what you say is so

     

     

     

    you should bite the bullet and make sure the girls register. its for your own safety, and it really can keep the crazy drunk/high thieving ones in check. most of all, it will be a great deterent to theft.

    I have booked this hotel for my few days in Bangkok during December.

    I have booked the club gSanook suite which is supposed to have all the extras as listed below.

    Has anyone stayed here and if so is it lb friendly. It will have been a year since I was in CIB and would like to get acquainted with Som, Noey and Muey again with no hassles from the hotel staff.

    If no one has I will contact the hotel directly and then be able to pass on the information here.
