    Again.

In Thailand people got vaccinated for smallpox to a much later date than in the west. Plenty of people in the scene have the vaccine scar on their arm.

Those vaccines are lifetime effective and cross protect against monkeypox. This is the current hypothesis of why some countries have almost no spread.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that this disease is not strongly underreported. Those blisters are huge, very painful and very visible.

If you simply don’t have sex with anyone with blisters, your chance to get monkeypox go from absolutely neglible to theoretically possible in Thailand.

If you are still worried, get vaccinated. Several countries in the west have started vaccinating At risk groups. In France we get a lot of foreigners coming here for vaccination.

I imagine for discrete punters, the thought of presenting to wife with monkey pox blisters would be a scary thought.

Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread :( but I didn't want to open yet another one.

While the first post of this thread obviously was just an April Fool's day joke by SiamMan, this is probably for real:

According to TV (Thai Visa) and Daily News, the BiB from Lumphini police station confiscated all the Viagra and sextoys from the stalls around Nana, apparently particularly those on Soi 3:

    https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1082752-two-million-bahts-worth-of-sex-toys-and-viagra-taken-off-the-street-in-police-raid/

Has that something to do with the upcoming general election?

I think the big and cheap Chinese-Thai pharmacy next to Bully's pub on Sukhumvit near Nana has also closed it's doors or is about to close.

So if you need your daily dose of generic Cialis, would you now have to go to a police post? Perhaps to the one on the corner of Sukhumvit + Nana Soi 4? Same price as the street stalls? Just asking for a friend... ;-)

    Thanks

And it's not even April's Fool's day today...or is it?

April isn’t that far off . :Surgeon:

    https://www.pulse-clinic.com/syphilis/

Went there for HIV Test (500THB) recently, the counseling lady advised me to also to take a Syphilis Test (500THB as well for basic  Test).

HIV was negative but to my big surprise Syphilis was positive (I didn't have symptoms or better said I didn't recognized them as symptoms) :(

The proceedings were very swift and straightforward (they don't want people saying they will come back later and then not showing up), basically its a 1-stop Shop.

    Some more details

    1. I showed up on a weekday without appointment (you can make an appointment via their website), downstairs is a reception where you have to register (just name/age/email)

    2. They ask what Test or Counseling you want and then you get a paper with a queue Number (just like when you got a Bank here)

    3. Downstairs is also a very cozy lobby where you have to wait before being called upstairs where the Counter is, Counselors are and Tests etc are taken, the lobby looks more like a pub with dimmed lights. There were TVs on with educational info, when I was there they showed a program about PreP (in English) and also one about gay boys and practicing safe sex (in Thai).

    4. After 20 min I was called upstairs and led by a young lady to a counseling room (no windows, very discrete), the lady asked me a couple of questions regarding my previous experiences, tests and recent sexual encounters, all info was put in a computer.

    5. After agreeing which test to take another lady came to take blood (just from fingertip), within 10 min the test results came back.

    6. After the results were told to me another Counselor joined to discuss treatment (antibiotics) and further blood testing (VDLR/RPR).

    7. Besides the blood test I also took an allergy test for penicillin (that would be the antibiotic for treatment)

    8. Results of the VDLR/RPR blood test would be emailed the next day and the results of the allergy test were checked on my arm (a punction was made there) and was negative.

    9. Shortly after that I was given the penicillin injection in my buttocks (the first of 3, each on weekly rotation). Before the injection they gave me some pills to would suppress the side effects of the injection.

    10. The whole procedure took less then 60 minutes, it was from my point of view very professional, medical license info was also visible.

    11. Cost for the tests and 1st injection were 3300 THB, the 2 follow up injections are 1300 Baht each.

    12. When I was a the counter upstairs I also witnessed 2 'patients' who (probably) took a stash of Prep with them (14-15k THB) for 3 months it was I think, it was very visible around there (posters etc) that Prep was available for sale.

    13. I saw 1 farang(M)-Thai(F) couple, the other 'patients' were single (gay) males, about 80% Asian would i say.

My advice: If you plan to got a clinic for a STD Test then consider including a syphilis test as well.

    Cheers

    T.

P.S. I'm not affiliated with this clinic, have no commercial interests in it and only wrote this post as informational without judgements or offending anyone; prices / procedures can also vary so please don't tie me on it.

Also I will not disclose more specifics on my case (please don't ask), it should suffice that my impressions and the procedure are described.

Information much appreciated & thank you for sharing . :Surgeon:

There are docs in Thailand who give injections. I never get them there myself, because I get 2 large doses in the week before I leave the US and that keeps things going until I return home. I know you can also buy testosterone and syringes from some pharmacies in Thailand, but you don't want to do that because injecting yourself without physician supervision is unwise and dangerous. There was another BM from this board living full time in Thailand who did that. He was giving himself large doses thinking more was better. He passed away suddenly and I wonder if his injecting himself hastened his passing.  Be smart and don't dose yourself.

When you get your first injection, you will feel a jolt that day. A few days after that ,libido, energy etc. return to where they were before and then you get weekly injections. It was a long time ago when I started, but I think it was maybe 3-4 weeks before I felt full effects. Every guy is different, however. Some guys get testosterone pellet injections which last several weeks, but my doctor said weekly injections remain the best treatment.

If you can, you need to start your treatments at home under doctor supervision about 4-6 weeks before your trip. That way, your motor will be humming when you arrive in BKK.

I recommend every guy over the age of 40 or so get testosterone treatments. It changes everything for the better.

This link has some info . Like all treatments ect , best to consult a Doctor to be safe .

Straight to my room. Wouldn't think of taking a hooker from the net that I've never met out for dinner and a night out before shagging them. For a couple reasons:

    1. Spending more money unnecessarily and opening up the potential for the date to backfire. You might find things you don't like about her or she might find things she doesn't like about you that leads to either you or her not looking forward to the later encounter. Even worse is if the ladyboy thinks that you're courting her because you're looking for more than a fuuck... then you've got a paid date that doesn't want to leave, bugging you on messaging apps, jealously, etc.

    2. Filling a ladyboy with food and then going out for the night doesn't sound like a good idea when someone is about to get fucked in the ass later. Eating and drinking gets the bowels moving... A lot of ladyboys plan their diet out to eat at certain times to keep their pooper as vacant as possible during their usual playtime. Probably not going to have much affect if you eat and then go straight back to the room, but eating, going out for a few hours... things are going to be starting to move from the stomach to the intestines in a few hours. Sure, the ladyboy can shoot a few gallons of water up their ass to clean as much shit out  as possible, but I think you're just creating more room for leakage, gas, smells, etc. ... Nope

I'm not saying to not do go out and eat and take ladyboys out for a night out, but it's better to do it with someone you've met before and know you have a connection with. It'll probably be a lot less embarrassing if either of you have an accident after a big meal and a night out if it's someone you've been with before. That's not something you want to happen on a first time encounter IMO.

Never after taking a ladyboy out for dinner have i had the problems you desrcibe . Actually it may be a help as steak & chips might smell better than curried bugs & crickets bghahahahaha . :cabaret:

  9. I agree the grand is becoming quite dated , except of course for the new upgraded rooms in the lower floors of tower 2 ,

And has tired and trampled breakfast , busy lobby , poor facilities ....

But my purpose of staying at either place is not for a holiday experience , where breakfast and facilities matter .

Its the mongering experience ...Price , cleanliness , room size , and location.

Both hotels are LB friendly and I have never had a problem with multiple guests.

It was purely the recent price jump at the grand that caused me to switch to the Royal

I have not yet stayed in the suites in the Royal . Just a standard or deluxe , depending on the deals at the time .

But I find the hotels are pretty much the same vintage , Royal slightly less dated ... maybe ?

Main difference is Royal being on soi 15 , is less busy, and more “private “ without the crowds hanging outside clubs and restaurants like you get on 11 .

But some mongrels might prefer that !!

    Lol @ mongrels :P

  10. i just called to find out if they are currently under renovations, but they can barely speak a lick of english. she must have thought i was saying "reservations", and kept trying to direct me to the website. so i asked if there was construction going on. no understanding of anything i said from that point on. i asked if there was anyone else there i could speak with. i asked if there was a manager. she said she was not there. eventually with no responses, the lady just hung up. can anyone verify if they are currently doing renovations? i would assume that it would be uncomfortably loud, and would not be interested.

since i arrive late tomorrow night, i'm going to book at the nana hotel for tomorrow. but more than likely will need a nicer place for the remaining five nights. any info or suggestions would be great. thanks!

There must be one hundred good options in & around sukhumvit for you to choose . Recomend the hotel review section on the site . Google map of hotels with location & price is a good tool also . if you like dynasty location , then citrus & phachara are right there too .

  11. Hi All,

Just a quick question on traffic and the best way to get to Nana BTS from Makkasan station.

I'm using the ARL from Swampy to Makkasan and my hotel is on Suk Soi 7/1 (so right next to Nana BTS).

Looking at the map, it seems that a taxi would be best as its basically down Asok-Montri then turn into Suk at T21.

My concern is that as I land at 15.15 it'll be around 16.30-17.00ish (or Rush Hour) when I come out at Makkasan - so bearing in mind Bangkok traffic can be mental I wonder what would be the quickest way - a Taxi or the MRT/BTS combo??

I don't have a lot of luggage (carry bag and medium suitcase) so if the taxi got stuck at say Soi 10 Suk - I would happily walk the 5 mins or so to Nana and walk over the bridge - I just think walking with a suitcase from Asok would be just a tad to long.

Grateful for your thoughts - Oh and it'll be a Friday as well (so weekend traffic at Rush Hour...)

    Mattski

I think it wouldnt be much difference in time to walk from Asoke than Soi 10 , as Soi 10 you would have to get up & over sukhumvit Rd to get to Soi7/1 ... Regardles , if you dont have much luggage i find the train(s) are great .. however cab to lower odd number sois off sukhumvit is pretty good run mostly

edit :- maybe my reply wasnt specific to your queries , but you got it anyway 555
