Dynasty Inn, a wander down memory lane. Use to always use the building at the back. Must be nearly 30 years ago. Stopped using it when Dynasty Grande opened on soi 6. But looking at your photos I will give the Dynasty Inn another try. Especially as there is no restaurant service yet at the Dynasty Grande.

How much per night please if you don't mind me asking?

The photos that I posted are of the standard new room (26sq.m). The current rates for the different rooms are:

Standard room (20 sq.m. with queen size bed ) is 1,390 baht per night.

Standard New room ( 26 sq.m. with queen size bed ) is 1,680 baht per night.

Deluxe New room ( 32 sq.m. with king size bed) is 2,000 baht per night.

There is a food menu in my room that says that the restaurant is open from 07.00 to 23.00 hours. However, the menu says "Dawin cafe and bar", so I am not sure if the food is cooked at the Dynasty or brought along from the Dawin.

  2.  I could not see any recent review of the Dawin Hotel on Soi 4, so here are some photos of my 4th floor room last week. I last stayed at the Dawin in about 2017 and the room seem to have been redecorated since then. The reception area has been remodelled with an electronically locking glass door controlling access from the reception area to the lift and the stairs.

The hotel room is not large but is well fitted out and very clean, and the in-room safe is big enough for a 15" laptop. The shower cubicle is big enough to accommodate 2 people.

The hotel is still totally guest friendly. When I brought back a ladyboy for an overnight stay, there was absolutely no problem. Reception just asked how long she was staying (i.e. ST or LT?). When I said that she was leaving the next morning, they merely looked at her ID card and returned it to her. Reception explained to me that if the guest is staying for a couple of hours then reception retain the ID until the guest leaves, and if the guest is staying longer they do not retain the ID. In fact when my LB guest left in the morning I was still in my room, and reception did not phone to check that everything was ok before the guest walked out of the hotel.

I had booked my room direct with the Dawin using their website, and when I checked-in they offered me 5% discount for payment in cash.

The reason that I had booked the Dawin was because I thought that the nearby Dynasty Hotel was still closed. However, the Dynasty is now open for business and last week was offering room rates a bit below their pre-covid room rates. They quoted me Baht 1,280 for rooms in the front wing and Baht 1,480 for rooms in the newer back wing.

  3. I have just booked the Dawin for four nights at the beginning of February, using their reopening deal. I emailed them before booking to check that their guest policy has not changed, and they confirmed that they are girl and ladyboy friendly.

  4. I am currently spending a few nights at the iCheckinn on soi 7/1, before I head down to Pattaya. I got a superior room for Baht 1,399 a night including all taxes. The room is ok in size but could do with a bit more storage space for clothes, however it is fine for a few nights. The bathroom has a good shower, there is an in-room safe that will accommodate a 15" laptop and the wifi seems stable. I feel that it does not have many guests at the moment, as I have yet to see or hear any other hotel guests. Although my room overlooks soi 7/1 the noise from the soi has not disturbed me.

  5. ARI23 you gave a very fair review of the Dynasty Inn. I usually stay there when I visit Bangkok and I fully agree with your review. I also request a non-smoking room at the back and I very rarely hear any noise from outside. Another good point about staying at the Dynasty Inn is that they operate a daily transport to their sister hotel in Pattaya. The deal used to be that if you stayed at the Dynasty Inn for at least 3 nights then the transport to Pattaya was only 500 Baht, but the last time that I stayed there the transport was free. The electronic safe is fine for storing valuables but is not big enough to take a laptop. There is also an in-house hair dresser on the mezzanine level, that I once saw a ladyboy working there. I have stayed at this hotel about 5 times and I have no complaints.
