I did a trip report with a review of the hopeland
Short version: I like it! Big rooms, good price, ok pool. Staying next month the third time their.
Best choice in that price range. -
Taken the other way, Nana to Don Muang.
From Nana the BTS to Mochit, from there with the Taxi to Don Muang.
No rush hour (45min) and cheaper (max. 150B), but little more sweat.

Sounds like the next move for Saudi Arabia, Egypt, et.al will be to prohibit Qatar airways from using the airspace above their countries.
FWIW, business class airfares from the US on Turkish Airways are dirt cheap these days because of Istanbul terrorism and Turkey's international image problem.
Maybe Qatar will be drastically slashing fares as well. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Don't know how the business class prices are, but my economy flight from Germany cost me under 400€.
It doesn't get cheaper.

My biggest gripe about the wifi was having to log in all the time, then they change the p/w every week so once you have it memorized, but speed was ok..... anyway...good place , nice staff. OP mentioned room service food....did they open the kitchen in the lobby ?
Was not open when I stayed.
It was open when i was there.(december)
The Thai food was good and cheap.

I wonder if the wifi depends on the room? I was able to stream video no problem, but in both rooms I did notice I was very close to a router. Basically after a week I decided to stay another week, but I had to move room.
Don't think so. But it could be that they fixed the bad Wifi.
I was not the only one who complained about the Wifi( all complaints from end of last year), but read from a newer report that it was good.
The wifi was the only real negative, good hotel, good location, good price.
Did not want to stay again in a hotel with bad wifi, so booked for my next trip into baku in Pattaya.
Wifi has become to important for me.

good hotel
big rooms
nice pool on the roof with enough chairs
but shit Wifi
Joiner fee for second guest (if you lined up a 3some) of 300B

Someone stayed in the Hope Land Hotel & Residence Sukhumvit 8 ?
It's new (i think it opened in february) and i booked for june there.
I expect it GF und LBfriendly but maybe someone already stayed there and wants to share his experience.

Many years ago, it's a solid hotel. Look at booking.com the ratings always worked for me.
But If you want to visit the LB bars, why a Hotel at Soi 2. Better one at Soi 6, 8, 10 or 11.
