I see what you are getting at, but you are still misunderstanding probability theory. If the odds of a result are 100 to 1, they are always 100 to 1 for any given incident. The more times you engage an act the more likely you are to get that 1 time in a hundred result. But just because you've escaped 99 times does not in any way change the odds on your 100th time.

There is a misunderstanding here about the principles of probability theory. If the odds are 100 to 1 they are 100 to 1 every time. The odds don't change with each subsequent act. You could be infected the 1st time, the 50th time, the 100th time. It just means that if you engage in the act 100 times you are likely to be infected once. If you are concerned with the risk of HIV, it's very simple. Use condoms for anal sex every time. Oral sex is a risk for other STDs, but it is not a risk for HIV.

I was looking through the CIB thread and noticed a picture of Toy. Liking what I saw, I entered her name in the search box to see more of her and got no results. I've had that happen with other three letter words or names. Any suggestions on how to get around that?

thanks but it doesn't really work. when i search for "picture toy" for instance I get a lot of posts with "picture" in it but none with "toy." The search function doesn't recognize three-letter words apparently.

My motto is best plan, no plan. I use forums like this to gather information -- like what bars are currently well-stocked, what current ST, LT rates are like, etc. For instance, since discovering this forum I now know that there are several girls at Guess Bar who are real nice lookers and known as good tops. Once I'm on the ground though all bets are off. I may walk into Guess Bar and find that I am drawn to a certain girl whose pictures didn't necessarily excite me, or I may just feel like spending the majority of my time at Cascades, or I may find a GG at one of my favorite gogo bars and barfine her three days in a row. The Bangkok playground presents so many possibilities. I just go with what comes up. Something always comes up.

Funny I was thinking of posting that very link for you. Looks like On8 is guest friendly. I must be thinking of another hotel in that area that wasn't guest friendly.

I don't know about the others but I don't think the On8 is guest friendly. Not 100% sure on that but I remember looking into it once and decided against staying there because there was at least some doubt about them being guest friendly. Good luck. Have fun!

The Sawasdee 8 is where I usually stay. I've tried a few other places but always come back to this one. It's the best value for the money that I've found in the Sukhumvit area. Things I like about it: 1) I can usually book it with breakfast for approximately 1200baht all-in through agoda.com. 2) The rooms are small but clean and well-designed. 3) Beds are large and comfortable. 4) Wifi is decently fast and free. 5) It is tucked into the dark and quiet end of soi 8 with lots of trees. I don't feel like I'm in the middle of sex tourist central but am just a short walk away. The location is really hard to beat. 6) The staff are very nice. 7) 24 hour tuk tuk service to the top of the soi and back. I usually carry their business card in my wallet and then have my girl call them when we are at the top of the soi. They are there in less than five minutes. It's also close enough to Suk to make walking an option. 8) You can cut through the alleyway where Lolita's is to get to soi 4. I'm always tempted to stop and sometimes I do. 9) Breakfast is nothing much but always has fresh fruit and yogurt, which is enough for me as I do most of my eating later out on the street. They have a nice little coffee machine amidst the breakfast spread that puts out a good fresh cup. 10) They are guest friendly and I've had no problem bringing in LBs. I brought 2 GGs back with me one night and still no problem or joiner fee. 11) The times that I've done LT my date has joined me for breakfast and no one seemed to care. 12) If you happen to grab a late night beer from your refrigerator the price is more than reasonable. Unlike other places that hit you hard in the wallet for extras.

I really shouldn't have to explain myself here but I will. There is a certain degree of trust involved when letting someone fuck your ass. If someone seems to be on drugs, drunk, or just a little "off," I don't necessarily trust that they will notice a condom break and stop immediately, or even care. It doesn't mean that condoms don't break with trustworthy partners. It just means a sober and grounded person is more likely to notice and act responsibly. As far as "quality" condoms, maybe do a little research. I always bring mine from home and I use Japanese brands. I don't know what is on the local Thai market but I have heard that the local condoms don't necessarily fit westerners well and condoms are more likely to break when they don't fit well. Maybe they work better when Thais are wearing them. Maybe not. I do know that the Japanese brands are high quality so I stick with those.

I just find it amusing that people on some message boards expect others to take their statements as the final word because they have seniority on the board. The reason I asked here is because I thought there might be people familiar enough with the scene who could shed some light on the subject. Something like, "I had a GF who worked at Cascade. She says they don't do testing," is very helpful. Something like, "It doesn't happen," with no explanation, is not helpful at all, no matter how much "seniority" that person has.

Not a bad idea. Thanks. I tend to barfine spontaneously though so it kind of rules out that option. But in the case where one really likes a girl and plans to barfine her multiple times I could see how it would be wise to have her tested. My general rule is to pick girls who seem sober and grounded enough to be responsible on the driving end of a condom. So far I've experienced no condom breaks with LBs. I think if quality condoms are used and they are put on properly it is pretty rare for them to break.

I asked her if she knew if the girls in the NEP ladyboy bars are required to be tested. She answered that she doesn't think so. I'll be in Bangkok again in a couple of months. I'll ask around in the bars this time and see what kind of answers I get.

No sweat, man. I just consider "Does not happen" to be less than a helpful response. "Does not happen" with a brief explanation of how he knows that it does not happen would be entirely different. As a new poster I have no idea who lotusguy is. Not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers, but I think there is enough talk out there about mandatory testing to at least speculate that it happens. If someone knows with certainty that it does not happen and can say how they know, then that is very helpful. "Does not happen" with no followup is a frustrating response. Anyway, it would be nice if it happens. And not at all surprised if it doesn't or if it does and the girls and/or mamasans have devised numerous ways to get around it. It is Thailand after all. Nothing is ever quite what it seems or promises to be.

Stickman has mentioned monthly STD testing in the agogo bars but has never specified if the LB bars participate in that. If all the bars in Nana do the testing I would assume the LB bars also do it. I've also read about it on other message boards. Also, I've had GGs and mamasans tell me that the doctors come to the bars every month and do the testing on-site. I'm pretty confident that this is true. I posted here just to see if anyone could confirm that the LB bars also test. Again, I would assume they do. From what I've heard the girls used to go to the clinic to get the testing and were responsible to bring back the results (a practice which lends itself to fraudulent certificates) . Now the clinics come straight to the bars and test on-site.
