  1. The promotion is on again! For the next couple of days its for a-club members only (its easy to enrol and it costs nothing), before being open to the general public. You have to book before the 25th of November (Paris time, I believe) and the bookings cover a period from 11 December 2011 to 12 February 2012. They have a few properties in Bangkok to choose from. They have this one on sale at about $50, or the Ibis Nana at 825 Baht. Both are a steal! Here is the link:

Thanks for posting this as I love to stay at the Grand Suk when I can, unfortunetly I will miss this time frame

  2. Just got an email from Accor Group.

The deals are on again for this group.

50% off rates if you make the booking within the next few days.

Ibis at Soi 4 is 750 baht per night

Grand Sukhumvit Soi 6 is 1750 baht per night.

Outstanding price for this 5 star guest friendly hotel

Son of a bitch, I already booked a room somewhere else. This place is great guys, by all means book it if you can at these prices. Its only drawback is that the LB's will think you have BAHT and their LT price might suddenly increase once you get them home. It looks like you have major baht to a LB.

LULT turned me on to this deal last year and when I got there they upgraded me to a suite for no reason. I would have spent a little more to stay there again if I had seen this thread. Dammit

It really is an exceptional hotel for walking distance to NANA

  3. I've booked a deluxe room 36sqm. should be big enough.

I really liked the place, never even checked out the pool. The streets were full of red shirts, cops , military and people. The intensity was on HIGH so I went out everyday to watch everything.

  4. I've already booked a room there for next trip.

    Thanks for your info.about hotel.

I think you will be very pleased by its location, LB friendliness, cleanliness and LB's seem to like this place. Just don't mess up the sheets or they will charge you.

  5. I stayed at the Accor Grand Suk last year (Dec 2009) and had no issues with bringin back guests. Reading this thread I decided to ask and see if their policy had changed. Looks like they are now charing a joiner fee. I'll go elsewhere.

    email pasted below...

    ---------------------------------

    Dear Mr.Jose Singha,

The joiner will be charge at THB 1,000++ on room only/night.

    Best Regards,

    Tanathorn

    Subject: Guest Policy

    Hello,

I am considering staying at your hotel later this month. Before I do so I want to ask about your policy on bringing guests back to the hotel. Are there any issues with bringing my friend, girl friend or a Lady Boy back to the room? Any joiner fees?

I love that hotel but they are now OFF the list ...

    Thanks for the update JS

I will write them and tell them that... they have to know that they are losing business

Its a great hotel and they will change their policy back if they know that

I spent a night with Cartoon in that hotel ... it will always be special to me for that reason alone! What a special girl she is!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. The rates start at 2,000 baht a night and go up to about 4,000 for the exclusive rooms. But may be cheaper if you shop around online. The breakfast was good also, served downstairs at the restaurant/bar.Oh,the picture is an actual "cascade".Soothing.That's why I included it. :D It is from New Hampshire,U.S.A.

reminds me of my first post about Cascade after visiting it for the first time.

Somebody replied "what did you think or the waterfall"

all I could think of was ... there was a waterfall in there... blink.gif

But to my defense... my eyes are trained to filter out all but the most important information cool.gif

    Fuck the waterfall

  7. I just booked a deluxe room which according to their website is 36 sqm.

That sounds big enough to me I'm looking forward to staying there.

I had the standard room and thought it to be very nice, so the deluxe should be a treat. Very clean nice hotel and the staff is great. Close to everything and the LB's like it as they are treated with respect.

If you don't necessarilly need to stay inside NEP 24hrs a day and Majestic Suties and Nana Hotel are full, you mihgt try the GBI.

The rooms are a little better than Nana and approx same size.

Cable interent which is fast and good shower.

The cafe downstairs is open 24hrs and serves decent thai food as well as western food.

One of the biggest plusses though is that you can bring back as many LBs as you wish, they will

only keep the girls ID. If she leaves the room alone they will call you and ask if everything is ok,

the same if she comes alone, they'll phone you up to check if you expect a visitor.

It is possible to sneak a girl in from soi 11/1 though, the guards in the elevator area never seem

    to ask any questions.

The staff is polite and not pushy, or too talkative, just mind their own business, it seems.

Not so many TV-channels, but at least 2 movie channels. And I think I have been watching english football at one

    time too.

Soi 11 has many outdoor late night bars and there are several big clubs in the soi too.

Next door is Sukhumvits smallest(?) 7/11

I use to switch from this and Majestic Suite. The rooms are bigger in GBI, but at MJ one can use the

pool and gym facilities at Majestic Grande.

Rooms feel a little old, but alot better than Nana, but it's not shiny by any means.

For at cheaper option and dingy rooms, they have a sister hotel in soi 11/1. Rooms are 800THB, but smells bad and

have bad aircon. And no internet either, not even WIFI as I can remember. Toilets are very small too.

But if just need a place to sleep and fuck and are on a budget this hotel is one of the cheaper ones in this

    area.

    GBI summary:

Pros: Cabled fast internet, 24hr room service, allow 2+ LBs/GGs, decent price(approx 1700THB), lively area but not in the midst of hooker-central

Cons: No pool or gym, rooms feel a little old

Top notch info for this forum +1

  9. Bloody photobucket keep violating and canning my pics posted here, despite them being noo more pornographic than a typical page 3 girl... GRRR!

I need a photo-host that doesn't charge, has reasonable capacity (20Mb would be fine, more better) and doesn't censor your images - can any of you fine mongers recommend a good site?

    Thanks

    Tano

There was a guy on LBP that had such a site but I can't find it... maybe LULT can help with this when he gets back from Vacation

  10. I am actually thinking about checking the Dawin when I hit BKK for some LB action in early september - was it a standard room that was a little on the small side?

I forget what kind of room I had but it was a little on the small side but very adequate.

I highly recommend this hotel. LB friendly, clean, friendly staff and close to everything and yet still a little bit of peace and quite. I also used the little travel agency in the lobby to get a last minute flight to Phuket and then on to Pattaya. They got me a better price than I could find online. They saved me enough money for a one LT in Phuket :)

  11. Hello folks

Some good advice given here already. We do have a help section, there is a link to it underneath your name at the top of the forum. Failing that you can click this link and it will take you to it -> http://www.bangkokla...amp;module=help

I plan to do a visual tutorial soon that will explain stuff like how to upload pictures etc. but 0015 is not the time to start something like that! I will look into doing it over the next couple of days.

In the meantime if there is anything specific you are unsure of please drop me or any of the staff a PM (if you know how!) :D

    TT,

Is there a way to have all new topic's and new post sent to your email without having to request it on each new thread?

  12. No ice in beer or red wine, so no risk for me there.

Plates and salad yes, so I only eat salas in upmarket places too.

Don't really know why we worry about water when I think about what else we stick in out mouths

    and other places :)

A better point was never made!

  13. Since my last post in this forum section seemed to bomb,I'll come up with something else in its place. But it actually is relevent. Is the tap water in nicer hotels drinkable or could one get sick?I never tried it other than to brush my teeth.Did see a notice on it being bad but that was in a cheap motel.Maybe it's best to just stick to buying bottled water from the convenience store.

Don't get discouraged on reply's. There are always more VIEWS than replies. It means NOTHING... really.

As for your question. The water is fine if you stay in the bigger cities (correct me if I'm wrong BM's)

My first experiences in Asia were in Cambodia, and all of the water there is suspect at best (don't even brush your teeth with their water).

but I have had no problems in Thailand. Others BM's will surely come along and give you more solid advice.

If your even slightly worried at any time the the price of bottled water is worth the peace of mind and OTHER THINGS.

  14. Anyone got a comment on eating at the Black Swan under Asok station. I guess it's between S14 and S16? Had a few drinks in there, quite an authentic look pub. Beautiful waitresses, pity they are gg's  But never eaten there, I see they do roasts, steak and kidney pie etc. tempting after 10 days of rice and noodles.

I think you should reconsider my BKK diet!

    I Joke of course.

Your LB experience out weights me by a kilometer :)

although Cartoon is good for about 4 Kg in a sitting... ohmy.gif

I get so confused by the conversion of KM to KG
