It is a little late in the day I guess but I am quite like you. My gluttony knows no boundaries. My last visit in August saw me visit Nara Thai Cuisine in Paragon for their glorious river prawn in garlic. 3 times!! Fresh prawns, fried till crackling, one could almost down the skin. Just glorious. Cozy italia, just in front of CIRB, serves a mean chicken cashew. Spicy and without the usual tomato'ish taste. Their papaya salad is pretty good too. I am familiar with Gaggan having eaten there before their Michelin star and then after. I made sure I got to know Anand and later when they were awarded the star, casually called him for a seat with a 1 month waiting list. I think it was ballsy of him to quit at the top of his game. All we now is wait in anticipation for his next project. I tip my hat to him. I also quite like some of the food at Or Tor Koh market. Although most of it is largely hit and miss. Bwana_LB 2,005 #28 Posted September 17, 2019 Heartbreaking that Gaggan has closed. It was exceptional (although I never felt it was a top 10 in the world restaurant). I come to BKK frequently, and generally avoid Pattaya. The main reason for preferring BKK is restaurants. BKK has so many fabulous places for food. It's become a foodie vacation destination. Expect “progressive Indian cuisine,” in a signature Gaggan Anand style. According to its website, the restaurant will serve “communal food” while promising to “stimulate emotions of food erogenous zones of your tongue with texture, temperature, taste and surprise.” All booking requests can only be made online via the website. Apart from standard questions about allergies and food preferences, you will also have to answer a list of fairly unusual queries (what is your favourite band, cuss word, what your plans are before dinner at the restaurant), etc. A reservation team then confirms the booking. Youngone 2,257 #31 Posted January 14, 2020 ShyguyUK and myself had our traditional New Year's lunch this Friday at Artur, a very traditional steak house with a lot of classic French dishes on the menu such as frog legs, burgundy snails, sole meuniere, pan fried foie gras, bisque d'homard, home made sauces such as an excellent Bearnaise etc etc. The last few years we had always opted for Le Normandie, but we decided to mix it up this year around and we sure as hell didn't regret that decision. The food was more than excellent! Artur ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Restaurant/ARTUR-Restaurant-330562996849/ ) is located in Soi Ton Son, in between Phloenchit and Chidlom BTS stations. I exited at Chidlom and it took me about 5 minutes on foot to get there. I had the Bisque D'homard ( lobster soup), sole meuniere and tarte tatin accompanied by some wines recommended by the Thai female chef ( who speaks fluent English and French). Full marks all around and the return factor is very high! Very quiet for lunch, for a more lively atmosphere it is recommended to go for dinner. Amuse bouche, very tasty! House white wine Bisque d'homard A light red recommended by the Thai female chef. Sole meuniere, the beurre blanc and the home made bearnaise that came with it were more than excellent. A glass of the recommended red wine and a glass of Sancerre to go with desert. A raspberry bavarois on the house.
