lb_beginner 742 #26 Posted May 11, 2015 I hate when hotels try to treat us as imbeciles. Of course they know that we know there are lbs. It is trying to humiliate us. I normally book a room for two people and if they try to charge a joiner fee I tell them to check her in as the 2nd person in the room. Since I have already paid for 2 people they have to check her in. The next day I inform she has checked out. Actually LeFenix tried to impose a joinerfee when they started. That did not go too well so they eventually removed it. But I had the same discussions at the reception and they had to check the girl in. But it´s really a mood-killer, 1 on8 reacted to this
rainie 1 #27 Posted May 11, 2015 (edited) I'm surprised at the statement of the Landmark. Stayed there not so long time ago and didn't pay a joinerfee. The ID cards of my vsitors were checked. I booked with a german travelagency for 1 person only. Edited May 11, 2015 by rainie

scottie1954 612 #29 Posted May 12, 2015 by reading the recent answers seems to me some are a bit formal and cautious. Landmark proves to be like that, asking for joiner free in the mail but not enforcing it in reality.
scottie1954 612 #30 Posted May 12, 2015 we often read reports on BM staying at the a Landmark and also some girls post the pictures on FB.
jamestkirk 5 #31 Posted May 13, 2015 Here are 6 new hotels that responded to inquiry. I thought I could just edit the original post again, but that option only gives one bite at the apple, so I will have to post within the thread itself. Listed here: Landmark, Shama, President Palace, Galleria 10, Okura, Belaire ________________________ Landmark Hotel Sukhumvit Rd. 3670 baht Dear Mr.******* Thank you for your interesting in The Landmark Bangkok Hotel. Regarding your queries, there is an accompany charge at THB 1,000.-net per person per night and your guest is required to present ID card upon arrival for your security reason. Should you have any further information or assistance you may need, please do not hesitate to contact us anytime. Yours faithfully, Mr. Pavarid Bunekanan Front Office Coordinator The Landmark Bangkok | 138 Sukhumvit Road | Bangkok 10110 T : +66 (0)2254 0404 E : email@landmarkbangkok.com ______________________________ I've stayed at too many Bangkok hotels to remember all the names, but all have been LB friendly, and I've never payed a joiner fee in my life. The ones I usually go back to are the Landmark (mainly for the terrace cafe just round the corner from NEP), and Stable Lodge (only for the balcony; everything else is pretty average, but I find you're hard-pressed to get a decent-sized balcony around the Suk area). In the case of the Landmark quoting the 1k joiner fee, I'd imagine they'd apply it if you roll in at 7.30pm blind drunk with a gaggle of ladyboys with their cocks out, just to discourage that kind of thing. They get business types and families there. If you're subtle about it I wouldn't imagine they'd do it. Anyway, thanks for the good resource mate.
jeimii 193 #32 Posted May 13, 2015 I have been in Phachara Suites for the last couple of weeks. I took a ladyboy back nearly every night and never any problem. They politely ask for the ID when the girl arrives and then call your room in the morning when the girl is leaving to check everything is ok. They charged no joiner fee, except when I had two ladyboys stay overnight at the same time and for that they charged 1000b, but that is clearly stated on a little sign at reception: one joiner free, two 1000b charge. Richard bkk 15 #41 Posted May 14, 2015 When I first started traveling to bkk for holiday from America, I too was concerned about LB hotel policy. I now live here on a retirement visa and have a better perspective of this issue. From an economic point, it only makes sense for hotels to allow LBs to their properties. 99% of hotels in the Nana area allow this. All the hotels require is for the "guest" to register at the hotel desk with their ID card. This applies to both GGs or LBs. Now that I live here, and people know me, I would not think of bringing a "guest" to my condo for fear of embarrassment by my neighbors. Accordingly, I make good use of the many "short-time" rooms in the area. Only 300 baht for up to 2 hours. No fuss no muss, and it is safer as you don't have to keep looking over your shoulder to see if your stuff isn't stolen. So my point is this: As a tourist, which many of the readers of this site are, just get a short-time room for crying out loud! What's the big deal! The real question you should be asking is where is the closest ST room to where I usually frequent. 1 flipflops reacted to this
icebergjr. 199 #42 Posted May 14, 2015 5 star hotel along the riverside. Not the best location for mongering but if I'm not wrong it is guest friendly. I work in the F&B department so not 100% sure either. I'm a manager in an F&B department in a Hotel in the USA, but would be interested in how you got to work in this field in Thailand? PM me if you feel like sharing.

I don't know why they never responded to you but like I said there were never any problems and no fees. The service is also very good there. Can't complain. oliver17 10,569 #44 Posted May 14, 2015 Add Majestic Grande in Soi 2 to the hall of fame. I didn't contact many hotels on Soi 2 or Soi 4, because everybody knows that virtually all of those places are guest & ladyboy friendly. I did want to email the Marriott on Soi 2, but could not find an email address on their website to save my life. They have mailing addresses, phone numbers listed but no email. I know the Marriott is LB friendly, but I still wanted to find out what their official guest policy is. Add Dawin (soi4) & At Mind Executive Suites (suk soi 85) I hope other BMs will contact some hotels and paste their replies in this thread. Just ask about their guest policy and tell them your guest will be a ladyboy. I check inn are only guilty of not answering emails. They don't charge joiner. (2014, Nana and Soi 11/1 properties) And great thread...thanks for putting in the time to contact all these hotels. I knew Icheck inn was guest / ladyboy friendly, but did not know if they charged a joiner fee. I don't know why some hotels ignored 3 polite requests to outline their guest policy. That's why I do appreciate the places that did explain their policies, like Solo Hotel on Soi 2. I emailed them at what was 4:00 am Bangkok time and they replied a detailed response within 15 minutes. I am impressed by that kind of service, and it says a lot about what sort of place Solo Hotel is. Many of the smaller properties in Hall of Fame are owned by Compass Group, and they all replied quickly and positively as well.
DeepnHard 1,117 #45 Posted May 14, 2015 Since I don't live anywhere near Suk, I find it fun to visit them for LT "sleepovers". No expensive hotel, or overpriced bland short-time room, or bar fine, or need to hassle with a late night cab driver. Booze is usually complimentary. You get to see some of their personality in their apartment, and they're more relaxed there and things can happen that could never happen in the ST rooms (I won't go into the details). It's also more romantic, and between rounds you can sit around and watch porno on their hi-def big screens while fondling. This was my experience at Kayla's place near Udom Suk. The bars can be fun, but the push is usually on. This is a pleasant alternative. Many attractive ladyboys who don't work the bars, but out of their apartments. Aprilbr 227 #47 Posted May 16, 2015 I usually stay at Lefenix or the Grand President. Both are in Soi 11. Both are lb friendly and there is no joiner fee. The cost of a standard room at Lefenix is around 1500 baht and for Grand President it's around 2000 baht.
