Public Areas with Free Wifi

Recommended Posts

Just checked on Google Earth and my closest Hot Spot to home is 1.8 KM from Sathorn Road from Lumpini Park – Narathiwas Road, I live South of Sathorn close to expressway.

At Big Dogs you should be able to connect to the Sukhumvit Road from Sukhumvit 1 to Prompong Intersection no problems, I was in Queens Plaza on Suk Soi 22 and later on washington Square yesterday evening and had a good connection.

Siam Man,

As I have previously stated a forum is only as good as the posters and what they have to offer. I am more than happy about sharing information that can make fellow BM's experiences "smoother"

I was rather fortunate that on my first trip to Thailand back in 1988, I was chaporoned by a guy I was working with at the time, we were in Korea and he dragged me to BKK on RnR, he was (and still is) Married to a Thai and living in BKK. I still go and see him 3-4 times a year even though he is in his 80's now but he is still as daft as a brush.

I am sure 3G is available on Pre-Paid, I will check out later this arfo, I do know that AIS (Shin Corp) numbers get free 3G in Singapore for 48 hours, I will try thart out in 2 weeks time.

I'm travelling through the U.S. and at an airport that offers free wi-fi, so of course i checked out to see if I could get on the forum. Bingo! I'm happy to say. Its great that we are not filtered out at many public wi-fi spots. However when I tried to get on other forums I got this message:

Welcome back Slammers, sorely missed your input here mate.

I have been away about the same length of time so have done little posting, just a few silly comments here and there to piss people off.

I am now in LOS (land of sex) and studiously taking repeated hits for the team, in my quest to find the perfect LB, photograph her and describe the experience to you all in lurid detail.

The bad news is I have yet to find the perfect one, so I just keep on searching and taking more and more pics in the vain hope that one day --------????

Oz, best of luck on your research mission. I'm on the road myself but will be checking in to monitor your progress. The forum was needing a boost from one of your pilgrimages to the promised land. Look out gurlz of the golden mile, Oz is back in buisness. Anxious to hear how BKK is after the recent unrest.

Well I don't mind waiting for my flight here in Birmingham, Alabama. Naturally i can get on this forum, but when I was able to access another forum, I just had to try a flat out porn video site and I'm happy to announce free wifi and absolutely no filters.

I stayed at a Hilton which offers in room internet for 11.39 for 24 hours and free internet in their bizness lounge however those are fully filtered, while in room isn't. Off to Montreal on Tuesday, will be interesting to see what they have for wi-fi.

I know I'll have to check for LLOZ movements. Throw us a bone mate and bury a bone of your own for the rest of us who can't be in your shoes ya lucky bastard.

No free WiFi in Montreal, but happy to report that Vancouver airport had free Wifi and I was able to get on this site without a problem. Flew into Chicago's Ohare airport and no free WiFi. Seems like its hit or miss at airports, some are user pay some free and some have filters while others are wide open.

Sheraton hotels offer free WiFi in their lobby area but charge $9.95 for 24 hrs in your room. Marriots seem to have the same set up from what I've experienced in North America.

Seems like San Francisco Int'l had free internet, but think that's the only place stateside I've ever found it for free.

Forget Dubai, never looked for net in the airport, but hotels $10.00+ per hour, and heavily censored.

San Francisco, Las Vegas, Tampa, Birmingham, and Vancouver are all ones I have found to have free internet. L.A., Chicago, Dulles, and Montreal all are pay for usage. Tampa was the only free space to filter that I found. Going to San Diego in November so I will add their status and others while I'm on the road for the next few months. Will add hotels as well. I travel so much, that I learned to hate the experience, but having access and this forum makes it more tolerable for sure.

I'm in Reno Neveda this weekend for some work. Happy to report the airport has free WiFi. I stayed at Circus Circus had to pay $4 USD for 24 hours internet. No free internet in lobby like some hotels are offering.

Flying Southwest airlines on Halloween. The gate agent is dressed as a hooker. Slot machines in the terminal just like Las Vegas airport. this place is more seedy than Vegas, unfortunatly I had no time to check outt the local tranny scene.

You can add Incheon Airport in Seoul Korea to the list of free WiFi, also no filters, San Diego Airports internet is much faster now than last year when I was there.

I saw a big white woman who looked like a tranny in S,D. airport. she was in her 40's I would guess. I never could say definitively, and I consider myself as having a good eye.

I don't think I tried internet while in Seoul but good to know. I usually don't bother when in airports much since most you have to pay and can be slow also have to find a plug in where you can be discrete when logging in to a site like this. You can add Minneapolis/St Paul to the pay WIFI which sucks cause this is home base so when getting in early for flights out I have to pay if I want to burn up time before first flight leaves. i am surprised you were getting charged for WIFI in some hotels since even the cheap chains in the US are giving it away not all but most and have been for some time. I usually book places that offer it since it is nice to have some privacy while looking through sites like this. I have used the pay WIFI in Chicago Ohare its called boingo or similar. You charge a credit card for whatever package you think you will need. It did not have any filters on it at least this site did not get blocked while using it. I have not had to spend much time in Tokoyo so not sure about theirs but if I have time in March I will see what they have.

I can confirm that Narita Airport in Tokoyo has free WiFi. you just have to register an email address and boom your on. No filters either.

I flew out of Newark airport and they have the same Boingo hotspot that O'hare does. $7.99 for 24 hour period,

In Narita you are limited to 15 minutes access (I believe).

I have a United Club membership, so have access to their clubs and affiliated (Star Alliance partner) clubs in other airports--Thai Airways in BKK, Asiana in Seoul, United or ANA in Narita, etc.--and all have complimentary internet access. If you have any kind of FF elite status and are traveling internationally, you often will be given free access to the club of the airline you are traveling with.

I just flew into BKK from Narita and was unlimited free access. Just had to register an email address. Spent an hour online and plenty of power outlets around the terminal.

I had that Premier Gold executive 1K through United back in 2002-04. It was quite handy with those star alliance partners. Singapore Air, Thai, Air New Zealand and Air Canada all had better lounges than those Red Carpet lounges of United. That was all pre- WiFi era though. now I have to rely on the airport because my levels aren't high enough with any of my usual carriers.

BKK, our MOST important airport! has free wifi in the departure area (check in) and it goes without saying has it in various TG business and first class lounges.

DXB, Dubai, has free wifi too but all "nude imagery, porn, sex related" websites are blocked as in most of the Gulf countries.

LH, Lufthansa, lounges in Germany have free access through T-mobile.

Most international hotel chains offer free wifi, usually charged to guests, to their gold or platinum members.

Yes, indeed it does, but you have to get that access code inside the terminal, so make sure you look for that little booth when going to your gate.

I've been travelling in the U.S. for some work and found the access at some Airports hit or miss as far as free goes. S.F.still free, Birmingham Alabama, still free, and Tampa Florida is still free but LBP is blocked as a porn site.

On a Hotel Note. I've stayed at Crown Plaza which is a Holiday Inn property chain and was given free access for being a priority club member. Just checked out of Hyatt Regency in Birmingham, where it was only free in the lobby. In room it was 15.95 a day for premium hook up 9.95 a day for just emails, twitter etc. Kind of fucked like that over here where the nicer more expensive hotels will charge for internet where the lower priced ones don't. I suppose they know they can get this out of the business traveller. Last week I stayed a Marriott Town Place which is a step below Residence Ins in their family of hotels and Internet was free.No filters on any of the hotels for porn.

Southwest Airlines now has WiFi. It cost $8, but I didn't test it as the flight was short and they offered free internet TV.

United Airlines sucks even more ass now that they have merged with Continental. No in flight on demand TV so you watch what they want you too. Get this, spirits are no longer free on International flights with them. Only Beer and Wine. No WiFi possible and no plans to have as far as I could read in the inflight mags.

Will be checking on Denver, Las Vegas, and San Diego which are all airports I have found free internet on in the past, so hopefully that hasn't changed.Chicago is still pay internet through Boingo, like Newark Airport.

Still the same same, as I have an hour layover here now.

Back to Thailand, I have been hotel shopping on Agoda and I'm noticing way more hotels than ever having free WiFi. Ones that had it only in the lobby now have it in the rooms. If in doubt about the connections or if room or lobby I just read the comments which sort that confusion out. I noticed some comments on a new place I was going to try as the connection being slow.

I'm staying at a hotel in Vegas that I chose for price and connection. Important to do some research before I head out to the Las Vegas Lounge tranny Bar.
