Long John 1,934 #1 Posted July 21 Wow. Have been browsing hotels for my trip in November My normal haunt in Soi 11 has their pricing out for that period. All I can say is, I wish I could alter my charges to the same extent!. Over 200% percent more than normal! Actually about 220%! Needless to say I kept looking. I found an apartment right in the triangle that looks to be ok. Has just joined Booking .com so no reviews as yet. By the photos it is not the Ritz but hopefully pleasant enough. Fingers crossed Try Trip.com. When I compared the rates given on the hotel that I eventually booked, Trip.com quoted me lower prices than Booking.com. oskol 40 #3 Posted July 21 I've found Agoda usually has the most competitive prices, they're also owned by booking.com but they usually have better deals for SEA. Sometimes I find booking direct is actually cheaper than going through one of the consolidators like Hotel.com or Agoda. It's always worth checking them all. If you definitely want to stay on Soi 11, try NISA hotel: https://www.nysahotelbangkok.com/ If you do not mind to walk a little bit, opposite Soi 11 is Soi 8 with several hotels. gottalove 386 #6 Posted July 22 I'm a nightmare for checking for a bargain, I'll have Agoda, Booking et al, all open on different tabs, including the hotel direct, plus Topcashback too, to see if any of the sites have any cashback offers. I had a quick google and I can see you're right but I think most of these fees (local city, tourist or resort fees) haven't come up for me, as in, I haven't had to pay any additional fee beyond what was shown when I initially looked up a hotel/area. It seems more common if you have to pay at the property that you may have some additional fees added into your price, but I haven't ran into that yet and I've booked with Agoda 5 or 6 times now. I believe part of the reason why Agoda's prices can be more competitive is they essentially have much higher property inventory than other hotel booking sites. Long John 1,934 #11 Posted July 23 I have decided that if I am going to spend good money, that I will go back to my top pick from May, being Citichic Soi 13 Sukhimvit. It certainly made an impression. It has been renovated and completely made over. Made an impression on my girl who by the way has become a bit of a fixture. Soon as she walked in it was "wow, this is nice!". Mind you it may have been because I was standing in the buff and pointing at the bed! I must admit....after seeing their room and the one with bunk beds inside the room my imagination ran offgrid... It must be my Viking blood hahaha. Look like a great hotel. I decided to give them a try in October, so canceled my Citrus Suites Soi 6 reservation. There are a few things I don't like about Citrus Suites (lame pool, weak restaurant), and I really like the Soi 11 neighborhood vibe a lot more than Soi 4. When I checked last week it was around 4500b a night, so when it was sitting at 3000b yesterday, there was no hesitation in pulling the trigger.
