Entry to Thailand

Recommended Posts

Hello. I have booked a flight to Bangkok for November. Is it possible to complete the arrival information now or do I have to wait until 3 days before I travel?
Thanks

Strictly three days before. Same for Singapore and Malaysia too

You can do it on your phone anywhere. You can do it at the airport too, if you can get on the plane, but that slows you down. Better to print it if you can.

Print it??? Why??? The clue is in the name, Digital Arrival Card. There is no need to print it at all. You complete it online and get the QR code by email.

In fact you don’t even need to show it most of the time, it is on the system of the immigration officer.

Copy that ... for my last two visits, I filled it out a few days upfront and didn't get bothered by it when passing immigrations ;)

I have been 3 times since it was introduced. Haven’t been asked to produce it yet……as you say, will be on the system when they log your passport at immigration.

think I have been the unlucky one with this then I forgot to hand it over with my passport and boarding card, and got asked for.
Think it is a case of if you get an immigration officer who wants to do his job properly,

but by the sound of it most just want to get you into the country and can not be bothered.

This is how it was for me.  I had the TDAC on my phone ready to go and was never asked for it.  I asked the officer if he wanted to see it and he said it was on his system so no need for me to show.

Maybe if you filled it out at the last minute it might not show up on their side?  Don't know, just a guess.

Because if you print it, you know you have it. You can never tell what they will ask for. Yes, you don't have to, but when using a computer instead of a phone, it is just one button. Phones have been known not to connect or run out of batteries. I just printed one out a few minutes ago and stapled it to my ticket, just because.

Words don't always mean what you'd think they mean.

Brazil has moved to an Electronic (digital) Visa system, and yet you are required to bring a printed copy of that visa with you or you are denied entry.

Twice I've shown up at the BKK airport to find their immigration computer system down, so they were doing everything by hand. Pure chaos. But in that instance a paper copy might be a good thing to have.

Only Chinese tour groups can provide the answer to this question.

Attempting this form right now…some areas not functioning, but I think if you’re even a few hours outside their 3 days window it doesn’t work.

Now we can bypass sour faced immigration officers, but instead have aggravating software as our welcome to the country

You ‘printed’ it and ‘stapled’ it to your ‘ticket’?

Nah, you lost me. I thought this was 2025!
