SW1 Market next door to the Times Square Building on Sukhumvit Road

Recommended Posts

It looks like it could be a good place for a quick break when moving between the LB bars with that location.

The old Art Box was a fun place. I was surprised when they tore it down due to it's popularity but that's typical for Bangkok really when the developers want to build another hotel or block of condos. Hopefully this market can last longer.

Sorry if that came across as unnecessarily grumpy.

Only an idiot like me chooses to arrive in Bangkok on a day when there is no alcohol being sold:D. It's made worse by me making sure I had enough spare time to go out for a sneaky beer before seeing the in-laws.

It is ridiculously expensive

140 thb for a beer in a plastic cup?

wondered around and also food is very high priced a typical tourist "so called night market" trap

Thanks for trying it out @gainsbarre

That's a real pity, as I liked the Art Box, which by the sounds of it, was much more reasonably priced.

I ate in 3 different places there last month and all were very tasty. Lovely crispy pork belly, some background music and pints for circa 150 baht which isn’t going to break the bank. Plenty of seats too so there are worse places to kill a an hour or so early evening.
