SAGuy 14,347 #1 Posted October 7, 2025 If you miss the old Art Box that was located in Chuvit Gardens next to soi 10, then the SW1 Market may be of interest. I only noticed it tonight and it is located in between soi 10 and the Times Square building on Sukhumvit. It is smaller than the old Art Box and more cramped, but a good idea nevertheless. These photos were taken on a very rainy evening from the overhead pedestrian walkway. It was quite empty, but there appeared to be lots of beer and food outlets. It will probably be less fun in high season, when it gets crowded, as the space between the stalls looks very narrow and maybe enough for just 3 people across? If the weather ever clears up, I'll go and have a look-see. SAG 6 Pascal_00, Bwana_LB, Genghis and 3 others reacted to this
Genghis 3,068 #2 Posted October 7, 2025 It looks like it could be a good place for a quick break when moving between the LB bars with that location. The old Art Box was a fun place. I was surprised when they tore it down due to it's popularity but that's typical for Bangkok really when the developers want to build another hotel or block of condos. Hopefully this market can last longer. 1 SAGuy reacted to this
Genghis 3,068 #3 Posted October 7, 2025 (edited) Sorry if that came across as unnecessarily grumpy. Only an idiot like me chooses to arrive in Bangkok on a day when there is no alcohol being sold. It's made worse by me making sure I had enough spare time to go out for a sneaky beer before seeing the in-laws. laptop 128 #6 Posted November 4, 2025 I ate in 3 different places there last month and all were very tasty. Lovely crispy pork belly, some background music and pints for circa 150 baht which isn’t going to break the bank. Plenty of seats too so there are worse places to kill a an hour or so early evening. 1 Bwana_LB reacted to this
