Denbosch1971 8,477 #1 Posted May 30, 2025 Booking this hotel was a bit of a gamble. Didn't see much of recent reports, but a great rate and prime location made me do it anyhow. The hotel is located down Soi 4, opposite of Swan restaurant, with a 7-11 and Why Not bar both very nearby. The entrance is behind the bar with the same name, although the bar is run by a third party. Not possible to charge drinks to your room Inside the hotel, they have a refrigerator with drinks for sale, in the lobby. The hotel apparently is run by Indian guys. Check in before 2pm on arrival date wasn't possible. I could leave my luggage and come back later. Deposit = 1000 THB. I've booked the junior suite, a spacious room, on the 6th floor. Small fridge, two huge couches, a great bed and coffee making equipment. Bathroom has a spacious shower and a (too small) jacuzzi. Their choice of coloring can be considered off, but in general I am satisfied with the room. The only thing annoying me is the water pressure in the shower, which seems to be on interval mode. From perfect to nearly nothing to perfect aso. I didn't include breakfast. It's no problem to have ladyboys in the room, but sometimes receptionist will ask them to leave their ID! Costs approx 63 Euro per night. Pic of the loom: 8 sydney69er, Mark22, Bwana_LB and 5 others reacted to this

Understandable! What actually convinced me was the availability of a smoking room. Turns out, they have only one (which isn't the one I have booked ffs) 1 1 taaseesanuk and Bwana_LB reacted to this
oliver17 13,888 #4 Posted May 30, 2025 Several years ago, I booked a room at this hotel for 2 weeks to use for ladyboy escapades while my "real" hotel room was several miles away on the riverfront. It was essentially a glorified short time room for me, except it didn't have the sleazy feel of a typical ST room and I only had to check in once. Nana Plaza still had 5 or 6 ladyboy bars open and it was an ideal location to take ladyboys from the gogos. The decor looks pretty much the same today as it did then. 2 Edisto and Mark22 reacted to this

Is it some sort of Keyless entry? Or are you saying you were only asked to check in the lady you brought with you once? It would be nice to book a nearby hotel where I can just leave without checking out whenever.
Denbosch1971 8,477 #6 Posted June 6, 2025 I think it's good to give some more insights on this hotel, after my first impression above I've never stayed in a hotel with such a lousy and non-cooperative management! Some of my questions below: Q: Is it possible to have an additional towel? Their answer: No, we provide max. 2 towels. Q: Is it possible to make up my room sometime between 9am and 3pm? Their answer: No, we only start at 4pm.(The next 3 days room was made up around 9.30am, 1.30pm and 6pm ??). Q: Can you then at least provide me some clean and dry towels in the morning, so I can take a shower. Their answer: Sure, no problem. Every day 10am sir. (The first day I got them at 10.45am, after that agreement is forgotten). For me it's clear by now. The Indian guys in the staff here for sure have qualities, but service management or hospitality in general are not among them Ah well ... like my openings statement above: It was a gamble. A one-time experience, that's crystal clear now 2 1 Bwana_LB, Edisto and SAGuy reacted to this

A one-time experience, that's crystal clear now Thanks for writing this report @Denbosch1971 this sort of info is invaluable for the other BMs. No hotel in the known universe starts cleaning at rooms at 4 p.m. as it means guests couldn't check in at 2 p.m. What a daft answer! After living in DXB for a long time, you get to understand why most customer service and hospitality jobs are performed by Filippinas and never Indians! The saving grace is that the room looks big and pretty nice, so not a total disaster. SAG
Bwana_LB 3,192 #8 Posted June 6, 2025 (edited) @Denbosch1971, your experience mirrors mine. I was shocked at the indifference to customer service, as in virtually every other hotel I've stayed at in LOS the service has been impeccable. At the Mercure I asked for extra towels ("yes sir"), extra clothes hangers ("coming right up"), early cleaning ("she'll be there at 10am"), extra bottled water ("will 4 bottles be ok?"), etc. Last stay I left a coat in the cab I took from the airport to the hotel. The next morning the hotel concierge tracked down the cab and got my coat returned by that evening. Same level of service at the former Majestic Grande and at JW Marriott. Even Citrus Suites Soi 6 was very good about honoring my various requests. @SAGuy has a point. The Thai and Filipina staff are very service oriented.
