Landmark or Adelphi Suites

Recommended Posts

What would you choose? Both  bookings are with free cancellation until a couple of days before the start. I have been in both hotels several times and liked it there very much. I am returning guest in both hotels. The doormen in Landmark know me by my first name and greet me with "Welcome back Mr N" when I arrive.

Landmark hotel on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok for 7 nights (room only, no breakfast), queen size bed, room 30m², for 716 €.

Adelphi Suites on Soi 8 for 7 nights (room only, no breakfast), king size bed, room 48m², for 810 €.

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

The Adelphi Suites would be my choice as I prefer the relative calm and discretion of the Soi.

That said, I stayed in The Mercure on Soi 11 which is neither calm or discrete and loved it.

They’ve finally finished the terrace at the Landmark. I walked past earlier and seems to be a few bars and restaurants.

The Landmark is at least quieter if you’re a light sleeper but the Adelphi is not if you get a room facing the Soi. I also remember the water temperature and pressure being temperamental at the Adelphi. But the rooms are bigger and better laid out in the Adelphi. At a push I’d go for the Adelphi and hope for a quieter room

I've stayed at both Landmark and Adelphi. I always preferred the Landmark.

You can ignore my wrench but.... I have a new great discovery which I love much more than either.

A Premium Executive Suite at the Samala Hotel on Soi 15. It's 2 years new.

651 euros

Incl. Breakfast for 2 - the restaurant is excellent
35 sq. Meter room
Request view of the pool
Quiet building. Great restaurants around. Short walk to Soi 11

Very guest friendly and no walk by the concierge desk as it's rather removed.

I'd been wondering about this hotel. I had lunch in January at their restaurant, Mariga, and it was fantastic.

Hmmmm, another option.

I stayed at Landmark and tbh i hated it.
it's 5 stars in name only and very rundown even after the renovation. if you're wanting a proper 5 star stay i'd go for sofitel or just save your money and go for adelphi suites.
rather spend the money where it matters, on services ;)

The Adelphi has a wonderful location, (although the vacant lot at the back of the hotel has been cleared and will be built on in the not too distant future = noise.)  I've stayed there multiple times and the staff are really nice and the more expensive rooms are spacious and well kept. However, since Covid their prices have gone up and up and for me the value isn't there anymore. I'd rather get the best rooms at Citrus Suites or ParkRoyal on Soi 6.

YMMV.

I still like the best rooms in the 3-4 stars. Petit Salil has some huge rooms up on the 10th floor that are very nice for less than these. Spitting distance from Cindy's.

So all they've done is total up what they normally charged for three nights (THB4,733 x 3 = THB14,199)  and then divide that into two nights. Scumbags.

Let's face it, the most influential business model in Thailand is the Ping Pong Show.
