Vesuvio Pizza Bangkok - Soi 8

Recommended Posts

Great photos there @sydney69er

I agree, Ottos in the second alley on the right off Soi 8 comes in second after Vesuvio IMHO.

However, on evenings where Vesuvio is full, it is a very credible Plan B back-up.

Ottos does have one advantage over Vesuvio though. The second alley where it is located is also where the infamous Lolitas BJ shop is to be found. Isn't BKK great? You can get a BBBJ and a decent pizza afterwards, all within 150 metres of each other).

confirmed, brought my Neapolitan colleague there once. His first reaction was "Que Cazzo who is gonna eat pizza in bangkoke" but I asked him to trust me, and his judgement was that they were really good and authentic.

It suffices to check in general the selection of salumi and cheeses they have and you know enough about the quality

The guy who runs it is actually from Naples region. And checks and gives clear instructions on how to treat the dough, I quote him "Ife I donte do it they fucke it uppe"

Excellent Pizze not the cheapest but good

Use to go a lot after a few drinks in the Kiwi

Agreed, big fan of Vesuvio here, which was recommended to me by someone on the forum! This forum is a treasure! As I always say, if i had to i would chose a pizza over a ladyboy!

As much as I enjoyed the pizza at Vesuvio, I could never say I would choose it over a LB!

I rate Vesuvio as the best pizza in Sukhumvit and I've tried quite a few different places. I had their excellent Diavola pizza which is a bit spicy.

I also tried their Deliziosa pizza for 480b.

Just along Soi 8 on the next little laneway there is Otto Pizza which is very good, just not as good as Vesuvio. This is their vegetarian pizza

I pretty much always order the Diavola and even add a little hot sauce! Love Vesuvio!

I`m gutted I didn`t know about this place before. On my last four Bangkok visits I`ve stayed at the Adelphi but have never tried this place despite being partial to a pizza!

Will definitely try it on my next trip.

It's almost 2 years ago since I was at Vesuvio, so about time to check it out again. I ordered a Capriciosa (or something like that), with mushrooms and anchovies. Thin bottomed and a crunchy crust, just the way it should be.

It tasted excellent, great value for money. Still best pizza place in town IMHO :P

Edit: it comes for 420 THB ++

Yes, I made the post right after my visit there :)

I was in the area when I saw your post. I was thinking about dropping by to meet you if you were still there. Maybe I'll try it someday.

That sounds like a great idea. I've never been to any of the "party nights" at these lounges. What is the ideal time to go? I don't want to be there too early but I also don't want to miss out on any of the interesting things that go on unless all of that usually starts later on anyways.

I always, party or not, visit sometime between 8.30/9pm. That's also the plan for tonight! :)

Feel free to say hi if you see tall dude, black shorts and blue shirt ;)

Thanks for the reply. I'll look for that description tonight. I might be there a tad later. See you tonight.

I guess you arrived after I left.

Must be. As soon as I walked in I looked for a dude with black shorts and a blue shirt. I think I saw someone with blue shorts and a black shirt though. lol

My sat in favorite seat and ate my favorite pizza... (price has increased quite a bit in the last few years but it is worth it)
