I stay often at the landmark and never had any issue. A very expensive, but eccellente hotel is okura Prestige. Stayed there as well and it was ok to bring lb. Okura is just adjacent to ploenchit bts Inviato dal mio ONE A2003 utilizzando Tapatalk

Good to hear that. At the time I got the feedback I was living just opposite of Sofitel so I have never been there. Now that I go for short time visits to Bangkok I stay either at Landmark or Marriott in Soi 2. Never had any issue bringing (even more than 1) lbs.

A very popular lb told me that the Sofitel opposite of Chuvit garden (between soi 13 and soi 15) used to make very accurate check of lb bags when they were going with customers there. This was about one and half years ago....
