Jeeze that place is right on top of CIB. And Pray Raya, a great Thai restaurant, is also close by. I may rebook. Though I wonder if that is almost too close. Will the girls be tempted to skeedadle from my hotel as soon as we do the deed being so close to the bar?

I am a cheapo when it comes to hotels and I am perfectly happy at a place like Citrus. My only complaint is that it is a bit of a hoof from there to Sukhumvit and the walk along Soi 13 is a bit boring (though there are some good places to eat like the German Beer House there). So I am giving Eleven a try for the first time this trip as I can literally stumble out of bed and be at CIndy's on some of the other interesting places on Soi 11.

Good info. But tharer are also some great Japanese places around Sukhumvit. So if you want Japanes food I don't think you have to go all the way to Thaniya to get it.

Maybe he is trying to save the extra 100 USD for his bar tab. LOL Well, he can focus on low-budget options. A week in BKK at a decent 35 USD a night hotel like CItrus and a 1500 streetwalker a night for a week doesn't sound all that bad. Maybe a splurge on one night at CIB just for the experience. Even if you stay on a tight food budget you can eat well (if you like Thai food). I'm fortunate enough that I can afford to take this up a few notches and enjoy what BKK has to offer. But personally, I do like to save on hotels if I am not going for work. I usually stick with boutique hotels at 40-50 USD a night and if I am in town for a shorter period or want to treat myself, a place like S15 or the Continent (my favorite - awesome views, great pool, nice top floor bar, and lovely staff - but terribly long elevator waits though) at 80 to 100 USD. Save my money for the girls and bars. One important detail I always look for is that there is a mirror close to the bed so I can get a nice third-person view of the action. I wish more hotels had mirrors above the bed too.

I understand your logic, but why spend time eating and drinking in a sterile generic hotel when there are so many great places to do so in BKK? With more interesting food and drik, people watching, the chance of meeting new people. In any case to each his own. As long as you ar4 happy.

For budget hotels, I like Citrus on Soi 13. I got a great deal there for my next trip. 5 nights for 169 USD. They were getting a bit rundown but they did a refurbishment so now the place looks nice. Boutique hotel, with nice clean rooms, great staff, and a small rooftop pool area. No gym but there is a really good gym on Soi 15 that charges 300 baht for daypass (again another alleyway shortcut). Staff let you do your thing. I've never been asked for ID for guests. It's a bit of a ways up Soi 13 to get to Sukhumvit. Maybe a 7-minute walk. But there is a shortcut through an alley just down from the hotel that takes you to the Ambassador on the other side of Soi 11 -- so easy access to Cindy's.

Hi Guys, Does anyone know if the Continental Hotel in Sukhumvit is LB-friendly? I tried S15 but they are already booked. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
