Yeah, I might have been too harsh on this place after now staying in three different hotels.  The beds and bedding at Aloft have been by far the best.  Same with the breakfast...way better than Mercure or the Holiday Inn Suk 22 where I am now.
They also have a free shuttle to Nana BTS and to Terminal 21.  That meant that I didn't build up too much of a sweat when I walked the rest of the way to NEP or CIB.
I might take some more contract work this year.  If I do I would happily stay here again using those points.  Shame they don't have a lounge though...I'm quite enjoying the 2 hour free drinks and snacks I get at the other hotel chains in the early evening.

Just sharing my thoughts of the hotel.
Location is excellent on sukhumvit soi 11. Staff was very friendly and gave a nice welcome. Kinnaree restaurant is part of the hotel which is open 24/7, hotel also have a travel agency inside. I booked the grand suite room. Room itself was spacious. Everything outdated, aircon wasnt that great as well. The bed was a major issue. Mattress way too hard. It felt like sleeping on the floor. Not sure if it was just my bed or all beds are the same? I did ask the staff, but they said its normal. No problem to bring guest to the room. No joiner fee. Security will ask for ID, and have the guest sign a document.
I had 2 nights booked, but checked out after one night. I just couldnt sleep well because of the bed. Bed is perfect for having sex on though, if that's something to have in consideration.
There are so many hotels in Bangkok with good value for the money, for me this was not one of them. If someone have considered staying here, and dont like beds that are too hard then maybe this is some good advice to reconsider.

I agree. Great staff, great location. This is the hotel I booked into while my collegue stayed at On 8. Have stayed there a few times. They know me now and really helpful.
Not a long walk from CIB!.
As you say, the beds are hard. Have just booked the Grand Suite for August, but the beds nearly turned me off.
One feature that is good there is the outside eating area with seating facing the road, Great for lb watching. I picked up one from that seating!!!.
I checked out other hotels in the area but could not find anything to match the location, value etc. $75.00 AUD  a night. That is about my max budget when lb chasing. Can't see the point in paying more. Have not had complaints from the girls. Sorry I did. When my flight time got stuffed up I had to return to the hotel for the night. Just got an elcheapo room.
When I arrived back from CIB, with the girl, (starts with L and ends with y), said "oh it only has single beds". Funnily enough it did not matter a few minutes later!!. God she was good!.

I enjoyed coffee at Kinaree several mornings.  A cheap and decent diner type place

Not sure where in the world you guys fly from, but it also depends how flexible you are. Mondays and tuesdays are usually the cheapest days to fly on. Example, Stockholm to Bangkok. November 6 to November 20 is 570 usd with Royal Jordanian.
(June to August are expensive months to fly from Europe)

I was a little bit dissapointed with Landmark during my stay, maybe the fact that i think the executive lounge was a big joke. I did like the rooms at Mercure soi 11 more, just opposite of Cindys. Aloft is decent as well. Personally i would pick Mercure or Aloft instead of Landmark on my next visit.

I understand they have their policies when it comes to early check in or late check out.
At Aloft i arrived 7 hours before check in because of early flight. They didnt have any problem to find me a room, plus they also gave me a free upgrade for no extra charge. While on the other hand, Landmark i asked for late check out (3 hours later than my check out time). They were going to charge me for a half day extra for late check out.

pennybridge got a reaction from mikel in Is The Landmark Hotel Club access worth it?
In my opinion, i rather put the extra money on a larger room. I stayed in the club room during month of june for a few days. Not sure if they have improved it now. View from the lounge is nothing special. Food, or rather snack options are just average. Drink menu is very limited. The service from the staff is really good though.

Yes the pool itself is small, but at night the rooftop turns into a nice bar area with lots of nooks and crannies to sit with your LB and enjoy a quiet evening. That's when it shines.
The downstairs restaurant is small and tends to get overwhelmed with customers at breakfast time.

A new hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11, the place looks quite nice. They opened this month, and have some great deals for people coming in the next month or two.
BTW, in response to an email query, they indicate that they are guest-friendly, asking only that guests leave ID at the front desk.
