Yep, stayed at Eleven in April through all the covid shit. Test, the works. Could not fault it. Next trip I am going back to the Grand Business Inn,(Soi 11), which is where I finished off my last trip. Have a large suite for very small money. Does everything I need. I'm a believer,(sorry a bad pun re the Monkees), in not paying big money for a room. Rather the girls got it.

I booked what I thought was a flight on Monday. BKK to Phuket. Booked with Thai Smile and they advertised a service whereby if you paid $4.40 through Trip .com they would hold the price for 6 days. So I did that, but when I went to pay for the 2 tickets today, found out that it was only a price hold not a ticket hold. THere were none left.The bastards!!!. As it turned out it was for the better. The two Thai Smile tickets worked out at $350.00AUD. Advertised price without all the add ons was $104.00!!!. I was on a tight schedule so then had to search for flights that worked for me. Got them on Thai Air. Still cost $300.00. There were options with Viet Jet etc., but by the time you add bags and seat selection, they were more!. I think charging for std seats is a con. Sure charge more for legroom etc., but include std seats at the going rate. No need to add that on. Can't see myself hanging from the wings!.

Are we talking about the Carry On movies from the sixties and seventies?. Those who are not from a UK or Commonwealth background will not understand. On a more sensible note. I am travelling to Phuket/PhiPhi in November for a few days. I am sure I will manage with carry on, but my reg. will need to take a suitcase. You know what they are like!.

Was speaking to a guy the other day. He said he bought a ticket Sydney to Frankfurt return for $1200 AUD. About $850 USD. He would only have bought it in the last couple of months. I am off to Croatia at the end of October for a week or so then back to BKK for R and R. Got a good flight from way down here to Split for $1460.00AUD, using Singapore Airlines A 380. Always one of my favorite airlines. Their flighties are about the best. Trip back from Split to BKK is with Qatar for $780 AUD, which I think is fine. Only sticking point is that you have to pay extra for choosing your seats!. Rest of my trip will be either straight home or go via Manila. Always wanted to go there. Think it is worth it?.

This whole process is confusing. So if my gf stays one night at Novotel near Suvi airport, has a test then moves to Pattaya after a day, she then has another test 5 days later at a certified hotel in Pattaya?. She now tells me she has not found her old Thai visa card from 2 years ago. If she does not find it I wonder what she has to go through to be allowed in?.

I am trying to organize things for my Laos gf to travel to Pattaya. The flight is ok. Laos to BKK. She cannot travel across the bridge and get a flight from Udon, (about 25% of the other flight Laos to BKK. Crazy Thai logic. They think it keeps the rif raf out!. Anyway, it is what it is. Olivers suggestion of the Novotel sounds ok. I stayed there on my first visit to Thailand. The most she would stay is 24 hours. Would get to the hotel at about 10pm. Take the test, then could leave the next day. Any other ideas?

Watched an interview with an expert on airline matters. He predicted cheap airfares when thing get moving. Said the airlines will do this to get bums on seats. We'll see!.
