Air Travel during the New Normal

Delta has recently introduced a new back-to-front boarding process. Passengers are asked to stay seated in the waiting area until their row is announced. That's reality already. Next step I think could be to let window seat passengers take their seats before middle and aisle seat ticket holders. https://thepointsguy.com/news/delta-air-lines-boarding-social-distancing Emirates screens passengers before boarding an aircraft for the corona virus whereby blood is drawn from a finger prick and the results are processed in just 10 minutes. https://www.cntraveler.com/story/emirates-is-giving-rapid-coronavirus-tests-to-passengers-before-boarding/

Emirates' new policy according to the pointsguy website: "The carrier will not allow passengers to board with cabin baggage in an effort to reduce risk of spreading the virus by touch. ... all passengers and crew wear masks and gloves throughout their journey — from check-in until they disembark. All cabin crew, boarding agents and ground staff who come in direct contact with passengers will be outfitted in personal protective equipment, which includes a disposable down over their uniforms and a safety visor — plus a mask and gloves. ... After each journey, the airline said that aircraft will go through enhanced cleaning and disinfection processes in Dubai. ... On board, the airline said that it’s pre-allocating seats so there are vacant seats between individual passengers or family groups in an effort to social distance. Meal services have also been adjusted, as cabin crew will distribute bento box-style meals to passengers in order to minimise contact. Magazines and other print materials have been removed from seatback pockets in order to reduce spread by touch." https://thepointsguy.co.uk/news/emirates-coronavirus-ppe-measures/amp/ Seat map for a Delta Airlines flight from New York to Fort Lauderdale:

  9. Is there a way to post on the community calendar? https://www.bangkokladyboys.net/forum/index.php?/calendar/1-community-calendar/2020/4/ For example if any of the lb bars organises a special party it would be great if one could somehow mark the date on the calendar. Or for the dry (alcohol ban) days... Or for the end of the lockdown... For obvious reasons it's not an urgent matter for now...

  14. Glad that you can see the pictures now! I'm wondering how many forum members access this forum from a mobile device and how many from a desktop computer... The frame above was indeed originally optimized for mobile devices. I've now changed the size settings from typical mobile website size to "auto". That means it *should* adapt depending on the device used... I hope it's now displayed larger on your computer...

    Hiv In Ladyboy Scene

Me too... According to Wikipedia "It is estimated that as many as six in every thousand native males later present themselves as transsexual women or phu ying kham phet." Thailand has a population of around 70 million people. Let's say half of them are born male, then there are 35 million men in LOS of which 0,6% or up to 210,000 are considered transsexual. According to this site however: there are only between 10,000 and 100,000 transsexuals in Thailand.. Perhaps we think there are more ladyboys in Thailand because we: a. are particularly interested in ladyboys, and b. because Sin City and Bangkok are places with a disproportionately high number of transsexuals?

    Hiv In Ladyboy Scene

"There are an estimated 62,800 transgender people living in Thailand. HIV prevalence among this group was estimated at 11% in 2018, making transgender people a particularly at-risk population. A 2015 UNICEF study found 39% of young transgender people had sold sex, making them particularly vulnerable to HIV. Data reported by UNAIDS in 2019 suggests around three quarters (77%) of transgender women in Thailand use condoms regularly and around half have access to HIV prevention programmes. Around 40% of HIV positive transgender women are estimated to be aware of their status. Discriminatory heath systems, transphobia, family rejection and a lack of access to education and employment all discourage transgender people from seeking HIV services, leaving them behind in prevention and treatment work. A study conducted in 2015 and 2016 found younger transgender women were also more likely to be HIV positive than older transgender women. Having an STI, having a low education level and using amphetamine-type stimulants were found to be more common among HIV positive transgender women, suggesting these factors further heighten transgender women’s risk of acquiring HIV." 20. I don't know about you, but I find street addresses in Thailand confusing... For example, house number 10 might be located right next to house number 64, which doesn't make any sense to me... Also, Sukhumvit Soi 22 for example isn't really near Soi 21... And Soi 7 isn't the same as Soi 7/1.... Even taxi drivers who are unfamiliar with a certain area seem to struggle to find the destination quickly. I therefore often print out the location map of a hotel and give it to the driver. One feature in Google maps that can help you save time finding a specific place in Bangkok are plus codes. Plus codes work just like street addresses. You can use a plus code to find or share a place on Google Maps. Plus codes consist of the short code and the name of the locality (e.g. city). Example: PHP3+M7 Short Code Bangkok, Thailand Locality Example for Android devices: If you enter: PHP3+P7 Bangkok in the search box of Google Maps you'll be directed to an address in Bangkok. If you're near the address, for example in the same district, you don’t have to include the locality code. To find the plus code for a place on an Android phone, you open Google Maps and touch and hold a place to drop a pin on Google Maps. At the bottom, you tap the place of interest to you. Then scroll down to find the plus code, such as PHP3+P7 Bangkok, Thailand. These plus codes are particularly useful in places with addresses that are not easily located through conventional descriptors like street names or house numbers. That's half of the world's urban population BTW... Taxi drivers in Bangkok often use Google Maps. If you give them the short code, you might get quicker to your destination...
