  1. When i am in BKK it is usually only for three or four nights at the end of my Thailand trip as it is closer to swampy for the long haul flight home. I always go to Hanrahans a couple of times as OTS has stated that the food is good and it shows all the sports but especially for me the premiership games. I have always had a good seat and the staff are good and you are not waiting too long for anything. If you dont want to eat, have a drink on the outside part and it is a good place to watch the world of soi 4 Pat

Rabbit Card for transport in BKK

I always reload my rabbit card when i arrive with about 300+bht depending on my length of my stay which is normally about 3 or 4 days, The rabbit card is excellent which like some agree saves queing up and i hate queing. I am not sure if your card expires after a certian length of time not using it, i know you can just buy another one but if you have a decent amount of credit on it, you don't want to lose it. I normally return within a six month period and i just top up when i arrive in BKK, but as cutefarang say's use your spare baht when going home to top up ready for the next visit,.once again save queing when you arrive because all you want to do is get straight to your hotel/accommadation. I did not know that the MRT has it's own version as i thought that the rabbit card was going to be universal for the both transport systems. I guess with them being seperate companies it does make sense. Pat

    P21 hotel Chiang Mia

Thanks OTS, i have just booked this for my first trip to CM in Oct and i got the same price as your screen shot / booked for a 3 night stay. I take it they will be guest friendly with being in a prime location for the nightlife etc. Like i said it will be my first time in CM,as i usual do the usual suspects, Phuket / Pattaya / Bangkok and thought to give CM a try, i must admit i was looking at The Raming Lodge with the great reviews but i have seen the pictures and some reviews that the Raming Lodge is getting a bit dated so i am glad there is a new choice near to the Raming Lodge as i believe the location is spot on. With Thanks Pat

    Kinnaree, Soi 8

I am with you on your post OTS. I also eat, drink at Monsoon, Via Via and Soi 8 bar, i like Via Via more as you can people watch all day. I have had a wonder up soi 8 and got so far as i thought it was just the odd hotel up there and turned aroud. I find Soi 8 a decent little soi for a relaxing atmosphere, but near to everything else that is just right around the corner. I am back in BKK in May next year and have booked into the Adelphi Suites (Soi 8) so i will take a good walk right to the end of the soi and have a looksie at the Kinnaree and like Zorrino says take a nice partner there to impress. I have just come back from BKK a week ago too, aaaarrrhhhhh!!! Anyway, Tick Tock, Tick Tock, roll on May 2014 Pat

    Phachara Suites Safe

Hi All This post is not about Phachara Suites but my experience on hotel safes in LOS.. Safe 1 My first time in LOS i went to Phuket - Koh Samui - Bangkok and as a newbie i did do my homework from the forum etc on the do's and dont's plus extra's. Anyway back to safes, i arrived in Koh Samui and was staying in a beach front type villa, so when guided to my room i was shown around my smallish villa, i was then shown how to use the safe etc. When my guide left i thought put all my valuables in the safe etc and do a quick mouch of the area. I was about to leave the room when i needed something out the safe and low and behold it would not open. I went to reception and explained what had happened so they sent someone with the "master key" for the safes. This youngish lad turned up and even with the "master key" he could not open it, after a few attempts and another member of staff turned up they gave up with the key situation, so off they went. I just sat in my room when the youngish lad turned up with a tool box, so out came a hammer, chisel, jimmy bar and some serious screwdrivers. It then took the both of us one & half hours to prize the door of the safe open with a lot of banging etc that woke up our sleeping daytime nieghbours next door. The safe was now knackered so i had to use the one behind reception, i was a bit worried but i did'nt have any other choice but all was ok. Safe 2 I was staying in a hotel in Bangkok and same again, was shown how to use the safe etc and again low and behold after my guide had gone unable to open it, I called down to reception and they sent a guy with once again a "master key" and he opened it up and i had to reset the code, this happened loads of times, i did tell the staff that it looks like the batteries are running out but they said they were ok, so later that day i went out bought my own batts and did not have a problem afterwards. Just my input on my experience on safes in LOS, i have been a three times now over three years and in different areas of Thailand and they are the only two problems i encountered. Regards Pat
