I posted something about Sofitel Sukhumvit above. There are 2 Sofitels I think in BKK. Don't know which one you emailed. I don't know why they never responded to you but like I said there were never any problems and no fees. The service is also very good there. Can't complain.

I always stay at the Sofitel Sukhumvit and no problems ever. They don't require an ID or at least did not ask for it and no extra charges. i just brought the girls straight up and they are very discreet. I can recommend it highly. It's a typical hotel chain hotel and not very original but centrally located and very good overall.

Also lots of great food in Siam Mall downstairs. They have a food court and you can just pick whatever you like. I personally prefer a restaurant called Talingping down there. Great authentic high quality Thai food. Lots of different ice teas and coffees or fresh juices on top of it. This restaurant and the Local are my favs in BKK.

Just wanted to mention The Local again. You should really give it a try. Great food. It's on Soi 23 http://www.thelocalthaicuisine.com/ Everything is good there but try the lemongrass salad with betal leaves or the chicken wrapped in pandan leaves.

is her tool also close to 6 feet tall?

if you don't mind spending a little more go to "the local" on sukhumvit 23. unbelievably good traditional thai food. been there many times and always very good.
