On Soi 11, chances are you won't see any families with kids.
In hotels that attract Arab families, kids are running up and down hallways without adult supervision around the clock even in the wee hours. They don't misbehave - they are actually quite well behaved - but they apparently don't have conventional bedtimes like they would in the West. It's simply a cultural difference. Those hotels are mostly in the Arab quarter proper rather than Soi 11.
A few years back as I was leaving Nana Plaza, I spotted a young farang family with pre-school children and a stroller at the entrance trying to enter NEP.  I guess they were attracted by the bright lights and wanted to see what was inside. The security guys jumped up out of their chairs, stopped them immediately and then had a chat with the parents. I didn't hear what was said, but I did see the mom's eyes open really wide while she was listening. That was probably when they realized Bangkok is a questionable choice for a family vacation.

I have invited afternoon treats to the pool. About 25% have taken me up on the offer.
    But...
CanadaVisitor's first two points are on target. The girls have mainly stayed in the shade, under a pool umbrella. And most will get in the pool but not get their hair wet. Some just sit with their feet dangling in the water.  At least half tell me they don't know how to swim. But a few have jumped in and taken full advantage of the pool. Mostly we just sit, talk, and have something to drink.

Update on this after a recent stay, I was in the building with the reception,  you do not need to go past reception  just turn left when through the main door and free access to the lifts, so guests arriving own their own or if you are bringing someone back don't even get noticed.
Rooms are spacious beds are huge i was on the 14th floor over looking the pool area, Huge Glass window, safe in room, good shower plenty of hot/cold water and good power , location just off soi 11 is great no noticeable noise although i wasn't an early bedder so couldn't comment on noise levels between 10.00 & 03.00. Very Clean and tidy good room service, with buttons on inside to request room service or do not disturb no need to faf about with cards on door handles which some smart arse usually pulls of anyway thinking they are funny. Roof top bar is very nice, i didn't get down to the pool or use the Gym but both looked more that adequate for a short stay.
I would definitely stay here again only niggles to note -small lampshade low down above the middle of the bed headboard is a nuisance kept banging my head off it and the position/height of the towel rail in the bathroom is dangerous as i cut my head on it getting off the toilet (sober) and i am off average height.

I remember a scene in the lift in the Landmark hotel some years ago with may exSO. An arabic couple was in the lift with us. The man stood in front of her wife so that she could not see the ladyboy I was with and prevented her from being "hit by the vice" this way.

I took a Ladyboy from Obsession's back to citrus suites, we had intended to use the NEP rooms but they were still closed after the pandemic,  she was wearing just enough to
cover her modesty as she hadn't put civilian clothing on. The guy on reception was brilliant and gave us both a big welcome smile....the Indian couple however, who he had
just checked in glared at me like I had  asked if I could shit in her handbag.....made my night that did!

Somebody's sniffy disgust over what 2 consenting adults are privately doing in a hotel room is their problem, not yours.
They're strangers you'll never see again and there's no need for you to give a shit what they think.

As an addendum, I arranged for another well known and obvious ladyboy to come to my room last night. She apparently was not stopped, just strolled right in hassle free. Yes it is a little expensive relatively but for a few nights, I find it ok.

Premium rooms are small but efficient. Lots of hot water, toiletries, etc. Pool is good size. Can even do lengths if you like. Lots of lounge chairs with umbrellas for shade. I walked in very recently, hand in hand, with a very well known ladyboy (to this forum) in street casual clothes. No one batted an eye. Not sure what would happen if you showed up with a 6 ft glamazon in a sequin dress.

I usually stay in nicer hotels in Sathorn Thonglor or Ekkamai, close to BTS. When I know im in for a shit show with 1 or 2 or 3 LBs, I do a quick booking at LeFenix on soi 11. It's a shit hole but you can take elevator straight up to your room without the whole carding bullshit (although there are safety and security advantages to that I admit). Cost is usually 500 to 700 baht, not much more than a short time room. I don't like to shit where I eat. I will take the classier LBs to my base hotel though. Just another idea to consider in the future.

Well I checked out Maxims Inn on google earth. Not impressed, so bit the bullet and booked at my 1st choice, Grand Business Inn, Soi 11. Got a grand suite for 7800 baht for 4 nights. More than my scottish heritage would normally allow, but I like the location, the staff are great and the room I booked is large. More than enough to impress the CIB girls.
Strangely the Grand suite was the same price as the smaller room.
I have 4 nights for the first spell and 3 more when I return after visiting Pattaya.
I do like the look on the front desk staff's face when I turn up with different girls each night. As that old advert said, "priceless".
The other benefit is that I can get my tasty 99 baht burgers on the corner about 50 meters away!.

I take them out everywhere. Ne er had an issue. Must say they all dress sexy but decent in their civvies. I personally wouldn't like them to dress like a street hooker
Always fun to get the looks from the bigot women and their husbands who envy me lol.

Edisto reacted to sydney69er in Little Tokyo in Bangkok - Soi Thaniya Great Japanese food
When I was in Bangkok back in July, I visited Soi Thaniya in Silom, which is only 300 meters down from Patpong Road. Amazing how many times I had been to Patpong but didn't know about this place they refer to as 'Little Tokyo' or 'Little Japan' due to the entire street being lined with awesome Japanese restaurants, from Japanese BBQ, sushi, ramen shops and plenty of others. An entrance to BTS SkyTrain Sala Daeng station is just on the corner of Soi Thaniya.
I just visited during the day for lunch but heard it is lit up like the streets of Tokyo at night. I just had a ramen noodle soup at a restaurant called Uchidaya Ramen. 270 baht for their Kyushu Tonkotsu 'Special' ramen. Best ramen I have ever eaten!
If you love Japanese food then put this on your list of places to visit in Bangkok. Go there for dinner, then head down to Patpong to pick up your dessert.
They do have some girlie bars here, located in the top floors above the restaurants at street level. I heard they are very much like the 'hostess bars in Tokyo'. These places cater to Japanese business men. I heard like in Japan, they pay a fee for a girl to sit with them and laugh at their jokes, tell them how wonderful they are and pour their drinks. I been to a few hostess bars in Tokyo and never saw the point of them as you can't bar fine the girls there in Tokyo but I believe you can bar fine the ones in Bangkok but at ridiculous Japanese prices, something like 5000 - 6000 Baht. Screw that! Get down to Patpong to pick up what you fancy for the night, GG or LB at proper Bangkok prices.
Definitely worth a visit if you love Japanese food.
