Thank you Siam Man. I am willing to forgo a hotel gym and pool to get closer to the CIB action so I appreciate your response. The gym at the Landmark is available on a short term,non-guest basis anyway.

After a dozen trips staying at the Dynasty Grande in Soi 6 it's time to move on. Close to Nana was always the main attraction plus a good sized pool and a decent gym helped. Now I have discovered CIB as THE bar in BKK it's time to get closer to the contemporary action. On my last visit recently I made just the one excursion to Charade to meet up with Shasha again and one to Temptations where I left with a CIB gal who was there with their volleyball representatives. How times have changed since Cascade,Obsessions,Guess,Casanova and Temptations were all that was needed? I have searched and noted MacBoutique,Maxim's Inn and i Check Inn have received favourable comments in this section but maybe there's some other accommodation I should look at close to CIB. Amari in Soi 5 is indicated as not being LB friendly.I realise a pool and a gym may not be an option. SM I know you are a specialist in this area! Thanks in advance for any responses.

It's a very nice 5-star hotel with excellent amenties. Classy food areas and restaurants. LB friendly and one of the best hotel gyms in the world with the attached Fitness First. However,the normal rooms and even on the club floors seem a little small and cramped to me. The Majestic Grande's normal rooms are even smaller. The hotel is expensive by any international standard and is really more suited to the business traveller. Sitting in the outside food area on Suki Road watching the world go by is one of my favourite things to do in BK. Lots of high class escorts hang there I have noticed loitering over their coffee and phones!

Thanks for posting this information. I usually get stuck in the small radius around Soi 4 so next time I will take the long trek down to Soi 11!

at last some cool fun stuff Yes Slam that other place is AMYfied and NICKIed and it just continues on as well as the regular in-fighting squabbles. Maybe I could bag you and draw 50 posters from there

Good news as it's a handy place to shop and eat. It's also a spot where a few LBs get together and eat.

The DG is my hotel of choice. The only downside is an extra 500 bht for a second guest and the front desk staff don't waiver under pressure to relent. As mentioned good pool and gym but like a few other BK hotels limited sun time as it's a bit shielded by adjacent tall buildings. The Majestic Grande pool has no sun at all as it's on the wrong side of the building! The Dynasty Grande has a 711 right next door,lots of eating venues nearby and is handy to all the LB action. And for those that are interested a bum gun in the bathroom!

The new,improved rooms in the front section of the DIG have a toilet hose.

As the pool seems important to you forget the Majestic Grande. Slimy,small and no sun. You should consider the Dyansty Grande in Soi 6. Good pool with sun between about 11 am and 2 pm. Second guest is 500 bht though.

Dynasty Grande has a 500 baht charge for a second guest but it's still my choice of hotel in this area. Good pool and gym with reasonable farang food menu. Only recent downside to the DG is they are still redoing the front block rooms and the back section is older and not as good. The front section with a view to Soi 6 is much nicer. B)

3 recent trips for me and I have stayed at the Dynasty Inn,Majestic Grande and Dynasty Grande. The better rooms at the Dynasty Inn are ok but nothing special.Reasonable value for the money. Majestic Grande is 5-star with good facilities. Rooms and bathrooms a bit small in the lesser price range. Food of high standard but the pool is a disaster. No sun (wrong side!!),small,slimy and right outside the buffet/cafe dining area. No.1 for me is the Dynasty Grande. Bayview on Soi 6 side is better;good pool and gym.
